Every pizza menu makes a claim, even if only through its style and its price. This page covers six places in and around Abbotsford: two in Abbotsford, two in Fitzroy and two in Collingwood.
Each was checked against at least two independent sources, namely OpenStreetMap, the Australian Good Food Guide and the place’s own website. Where a venue states its dough or oven we quote it, and where it does not, we say nothing about it. BYO is marked as not stated unless a source says otherwise.
Two of the six are bars with pizza on the menu rather than pizzerias, and we say which. Prices are copied as printed, and places whose prices we did not record show none.

Rita’s Cafeteria — 239 Johnston Street, Abbotsford VIC 3067
Rita’s Cafeteria’s site describes ‘Dine-In & Takeaway Pizza Johnston Street’ and lists a Tuesday locals night with all pizza at $22. Its menu spells the classic tomato-and-basil pie MARGARITA and lists it at $26, with PEPPERONI at $30 and SALTY PIG at $30. The site lists Happy Hour daily until 7pm, and hours of Monday to Sunday from 4pm to late, though AGFG lists Monday as closed, so check hours first.

Two Hands Rooftop Bar — 311A Victoria Street, Abbotsford VIC 3067
Two Hands Rooftop Bar is a bar rather than a pizzeria, and its site describes a beer garden, a rooftop and indoor space. The site lists a Pepperoni Pizza described as spicy pepperoni with chili sauce and mozzarella, alongside a special Happy Hour menu. AGFG tags it with disabled access and functions. Hours are not listed on this page, so check with the bar before you go.
The style: Bar pizza, as far as the site shows, listed among bar food and not as a pizzeria’s focus.
Ladro — 224 Gertrude Street, Fitzroy VIC 3065
Ladro’s site describes ‘Wood-fired pizza, pasta and tiramisu.’ Its menu lists Margherita at $26.00 and Badabing at $29.00 (tomato, provolone, fennel salsiccia, basil, oregano and chili). The site lists a Mid-week Takeaway Deal at $59, available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday through its online ordering portal. The site lists Tuesday as closed.

The Code Pizza Bar — 37 Langridge Street, Collingwood VIC 3066
The Code Pizza Bar’s site says ‘Our thin-crust pizzas are crafted with passion, using quality ingredients, and our handmade pasta is made fresh in-house.’ A thin crust (one rolled out flat, with little rim) cooks and eats differently from a puffy Neapolitan edge. The site lists lunch from 10:30am to 2pm and dinner from 4:30pm to 10pm, Monday to Sunday. AGFG tags it pet friendly, with delivery, vegan options and gluten free options.

Red Sparrow Pizza — 60 Rose Street, Fitzroy VIC 3065
Red Sparrow Pizza’s site says it is “Melbourne’s only 100% vegan pizzeria” and explains that any references to meat or dairy are plant based alternatives, which is how a menu item like NOT WINGS makes sense. Its menu lists MARGHERITA at $26 and NOT WINGS at $17. The site lists Wednesday and Thursday from 5pm to 9pm, Friday from 4pm to 10pm, Saturday from 10am to 10pm, Sunday from 10am to 9pm, and closed Monday and Tuesday. It also mentions pickup and delivery.

Gum — 173 Johnston Street, Collingwood VIC 3066
Gum is a bar, and its site carries a menu page with a pizza line whose timing wording is unclear, so ask the bar when pizzas are served. The site says its current wine list and specials are displayed in the venue. Hours and prices for Gum are not listed on this page, so check with the bar before you go.
