This page answers one question: which cafes in Bentleigh East say they take dogs, and who says so. Five places made the cut. Three are in Bentleigh East, one is in Bentleigh and one is in Moorabbin.
The rules decide the visit, so each entry says where the claim comes from. Some cafes state it on their own site. Others rest on a directory tick only. Where a source says outdoor courtyard we say outdoor. Where it only says pet friendly we say listed as pet friendly and leave inside or outside open.
We checked each place against its own site where one exists, plus the Australian Good Food Guide and, where it has an entry, map data. Ring ahead before you bring a dog.

The Merchants Guild — 680 Centre Road, Bentleigh East VIC 3165
Status: dog-friendly, per its own site. The site says its dog-friendly cafe includes a magnificent outdoor courtyard. That is the only dog rule we found, so treat it as outdoor seating. We could not find a statement about dogs inside. We could not confirm how current the site is, so ask before you go.

Fe Fin Cafe — 947 Centre Rd, Bentleigh East VIC 3165
Status: listed as pet friendly. AGFG carries the Pet Friendly tag. The cafe’s own menu data also has a Puppuccino item, which suggests dogs are on its mind. Neither source says whether dogs may sit inside, so we do not claim it.

Humble Creatures — 4 Matthews Road, Bentleigh East VIC 3165
Status: listed as pet friendly. AGFG ticks Pet Friendly and that is all we have. We found no own site for this cafe, so no courtyard, no inside rule and no hours to quote. Treat it as a directory listing and confirm by phone or in person.
Inside or outside only: unknown, because the listing does not say; ask before you tie up.
Double Pour — 83 Tucker Road, Bentleigh VIC 3204
Status: pet-friendly, per its own site. The page title reads A Pet-Friendly Café with Delicious Culinary Choices. This one is in Bentleigh, not Bentleigh East. Its site lists Monday as closed, so a Monday walk-in is wasted. We found no wording on inside versus outside seating.

Status: listed as pet friendly. AGFG carries the tick and the cafe’s own site is silent on dogs in what we read. It sits in Moorabbin, a little outside the Bentleigh East centre. One directory tick is thin evidence for a dog rule, so hedge.

Are there dog-friendly cafes near Bentleigh East in Bentleigh or Moorabbin?
Yes, one each. Double Pour in Bentleigh describes itself as a pet-friendly cafe on its own site. Custodian Kitchen in Moorabbin carries AGFG’s Pet Friendly tag. Both are a short hop out of Bentleigh East, so check the address before you leave.
