An off-leash area is only off-leash where the council says so, and the sign at the gate wins. This page lists six parks in and around Bentleigh East: four in the suburb, one in Bentleigh and one in McKinnon.
Each status below comes from the Glen Eira council page for that park, as listed. Where the council gives a rule, we repeat it. Where it does not, check the council order. We have not given any off-leash hours, because the pages we checked do not state them.

Bailey Reserve — 200 East Boundary Road, Bentleigh East VIC 3165
Status: part off-leash, part on-lead. Per council, the two rectangular sports grounds on the eastern side and the northern end are off-leash areas. The western oval and the southern reserve area, including the playground and outdoor gym areas, are on-leash. The council also lists a picnic shelter and BBQ facilities, and says the public toilets are in the sporting pavilion.
Off-leash status: eastern and northern sports grounds only, per council; keep the lead on near the playground.
Centenary Park — Bignell Road, Bentleigh East VIC 3165
Status: part off-leash. The council says the eastern side of Centenary Park is off leash, closest to Bignell Road and including the eastern oval. Its feature list shows dogs on leash elsewhere, alongside toilets, a walking path and a playground. The council also lists internal walking and running pathways and two sports grounds.
Bring: a lead, because the council lists dogs on leash outside the eastern side.
Mackie Road Reserve — Mackie Road, Bentleigh East VIC 3165
Status: off-leash, with a condition. The council calls the sports oval a designated off-leash area when not in use by sports clubs. It lists a BBQ area with tables and seating, a playground and cricket nets. We could not find published club times, so check the council order and the signs.
Off-leash status: the oval is off-leash only when sports clubs are not using it, per council.
King George VI Memorial Reserve — East Boundary Road, Bentleigh East VIC 3165
Status: off-leash on the sports grounds. The council says both sports grounds are off-leash, and its feature list also shows dogs on leash for other parts of the reserve. It lists toilets, a walking path, a playground and a picnic shelter with a BBQ area. Wikipedia’s suburb article describes cricket and football grounds, a half basketball court and a tennis hit wall.
Bring: a lead for the on-leash parts, since the council lists both off-leash and on-leash dog areas.
Marlborough Street Reserve — Marlborough Street, Bentleigh VIC 3204
Status: part off-leash. The council says the western side of the park, on the sportsground, is an off-leash area. It lists dogs on leash as well, plus a playground, a rotunda or picnic shelter, tables and toilets. The council gives the address as Bentleigh, so we label it with the council’s suburb.
Off-leash status: western sportsground only, per council; the rest is on-lead.
McKinnon Reserve — McKinnon Road, McKinnon VIC 3204
Status: part off-leash. The council says the southern end of the park, oval two, is an off-leash area. It also lists a nature play space, BBQ facilities and public toilets near the picnic shelter. This one is in McKinnon, not Bentleigh East.

What are the off-leash hours at Bentleigh East parks?
The council pages we checked do not give off-leash hours, so check the council order and the signs at the gate. The one condition they do state is at Mackie Road Reserve, where the oval is off-leash when not in use by sports clubs.
