Correction (3 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources between 2 October 2026 and 3 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.
Four places. That is what we could stand behind for sweet things in and around Boronia.
Three are on Boronia Road in Boronia: a Levantine cafe, a cafe with gelato in its tag line, and a bakery. The fourth, Hard Road Brewing, is in Bayswater. It is on the page because its menu prints a dessert section with prices.
Each entry below comes from the venue’s own site or an attributed listing. Where we could not read a price, the page says so.
The quick picks
| If you’re after | Head to | Order this | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pistachio pastry desserts from a Levantine cafe | 1947 Cafe | Choc Pistachio Tart | $17.00 |
| Gelato, going by the cafe’s own tag line | Cafe Brontos | see below | not printed here |
| Scones to take away | Bakers Delight Boronia | Scone 4 Pack | $13.90 |
| A plated dessert with ice cream, in Bayswater | Hard Road Brewing | Wicked Apple Pie (dessert) | $12.50 |
1947 Cafe — 11/163 Boronia Road, Boronia VIC 3155
This is the pastry pick. The cafe’s own menu prints the Choc Pistachio Tart at $17.00. It describes a tart of pistachio and kataifi pastry, filled and topped with salted chocolate ganache. Kataifi is shredded filo pastry.
The menu also lists Knafeh at $15.00 and tags it Popular. The description: kataifi layered with cheese, soaked in a sugar-based cinnamon syrup and topped with pistachio pieces. Knafeh is a Middle Eastern dessert, so cheese in a sweet dish is the point, not a mistake.
The cafe’s website lists hours of 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Tuesday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday and Sunday, and Monday closed. HappyCow shows different hours for the same cafe, so check before you go. The website also says breakfast is served all day.
On the menu (copied from 1947cafe.com.au on 3 October 2026):
- Choc Pistachio Tart: $17.00
- Za’atar manoush: $4.00
- Sujuk manoush: $10.00
- The Sujuk Sunrise (kaak roll): $17.00
The build: pistachio, kataifi, then either salted chocolate ganache or cheese and cinnamon syrup.
Cafe Brontos — Unit 1, 140 Boronia Road, Boronia VIC 3155
Thin entry, so here is what we know. The cafe’s own site describes it with a tag line that includes gelato, brunch, kids menu and outdoor dine-in. The Australian Good Food Guide lists Alfresco Dining and Child Friendly for the same address.
We did not read a price for anything here. The own-site menu is a PDF viewer, and the online ordering page shows prices only inside item pop-ups. So there is no price line for this cafe.
AGFG lists hours of 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM Saturday and Sunday. On 3 October 2026 the ordering page said the cafe would re-open at 8:00 AM that day, and it takes pre-orders.
Order: use the online ordering page to see what is on today, and ask about gelato directly.
Bakers Delight Boronia — Shop 8, Boronia Junction, 123 Boronia Road, Boronia VIC 3155
This one is a bakery stop, not a dessert menu. The items we copied from the DoorDash listing are Cheesymite Scroll at $6.10 and Ham & Cheese Danish at $6.20. Both are savoury. The same listing prints a Scone 4 Pack at $13.90, and scones are the sort of bake people usually eat with jam and cream.
Treat the prices with care. They are DoorDash prices, and the listing says prices may differ between delivery and pickup. The store page on Shopfully lists this shop at Boronia Junction, Shop 8.
Shopfully lists hours of 6:00am to 7:30pm Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 6:30pm Saturday and 6:00am to 7:00pm Sunday.
On the menu (copied from doordash.com on 3 October 2026):
- Cheesymite Scroll: $6.10
- Ham & Cheese Danish: $6.20
- Mini Cheesymite Scroll 4 Pack: $12.60
- Pizza 2 Pack: $14.10
Order: the delivery listing is a price guide. For a sweet pick, ask in store.
Hard Road Brewing — 31 Holloway Drive, Bayswater VIC 3153
Different suburb, and its menu has a section headed Dessert. The brewery’s menu page lists a Wicked Apple Pie with vanilla bean ice cream and dehydrated apple garnish at 12.50. Death By Chocolate, with finely grated Belgian chocolate, is also 12.50. The menu prints bare numbers with no dollar sign, so we read these as dollars.
The site lists hours for Thursday to Sunday: Thursday 12-10, Friday 12-11, Saturday 12-11 and Sunday 12-8. Those are venue hours. We could not read a kitchen closing time, so ask before you plan on dessert late in the evening.
AGFG lists the venue as Child Friendly, and the brewery’s own site calls itself family friendly.
On the menu (copied from hardroadbrewing.com on 3 October 2026):
- Wicked Apple Pie (dessert): $12.50
- Death By Chocolate (dessert): $12.50
- Roadie Burger (+ side of fries OR salad): $24
- Haloumi Burger (vegetarian; vegan option) (+ side of fries OR salad): $21
The build: apple pie plus vanilla bean ice cream and dehydrated apple, or Belgian chocolate on its own terms.

How we checked
We checked every place on this page against at least two independent sources between 2 October 2026 and 3 October 2026: the places’ own websites, happycow.net, OpenStreetMap, cafe-brontos.nextorder.com, the Australian Good Food Guide, shopfully.com.au and a delivery-platform listing.
