Cafe Saporo — 818 Whitehorse Road, Box Hill VIC 3128
Cafe Saporo’s own site lists Monday to Thursday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm and Friday 7:00 am - 12:00 am, with Saturday and Sunday closed. The site calls the cafe “a perfect stop for breakfast before work, lunch on your break”. We have not verified a laptop policy here, so we make no claim either way. The pages we read were undated, so check the hours before you go.
Commute: The site puts the cafe on the corner of Whitehorse Road and Prospect Street in Box Hill, so check your route to that corner before you plan a workday.
Matta Cafe — 55 Katrina Street, Blackburn North VIC 3130
Matta Cafe is in Blackburn North, next to Box Hill North. The OpenStreetMap tag lists Monday to Friday 07:00 to 15:00, Saturday 07:30 to 15:00 and Sunday 08:00 to 15:00. That is the OpenStreetMap tag only, and it may be out of date. Its own site and the Australian Good Food Guide both agree on the Katrina Street address.

Selene’s Chocolate Cafe — 1 Main Street, Box Hill VIC 3128
Selene’s Chocolate Cafe is inside Box Hill Central. AGFG gives the address as Shop 26, 1 Main Street. Its own site lists Monday to Thursday 06:00 - 21:00, Friday 06:00 - 22:00, Saturday 08:00 - 22:00 and Sunday 08:00 - 21:00. We have not verified wifi, power points or a laptop policy.
Best for: Evening or weekend sessions on paper, since its own site lists hours on all seven days.
