Winelarder’s own site says it is open from 4pm daily, so this is an evening plan. The same site lists Free live music every weekend, so the room may be louder then. We could not read menu prices. Plan B: check its gig list before you pick the night.
Stage: A second or third date, when weekend live music is a bonus rather than a risk.
Half Moon — 120 Church St, Brighton VIC 3186
Half Moon’s own site lists opening hours of Everyday 12pm — late, so it works for an early drink as well as an evening one. The same site lists Live Music Sundays, so expect more noise then. AGFG lists it with Vegan Options. Plan B: pick another day if you want to talk.

Hotel Brighton — 286 Bay Street, Brighton VIC 3186
Hotel Brighton’s own site lists OPENING HOURS 7 Days a week 11am – late. AGFG lists it with Live Music and Alfresco Dining. That makes the music a thing to check before you choose a night. The site was undated in the pages we read, so confirm hours. Plan B: ask what is on before you book.
Split or splurge: We could not read menu prices, so look at the menu before you decide.
Bobbi Pearl — 131 Church Street, Brighton VIC 3186
Bobbi Pearl’s own site lists HOURS 5PM - LATE MONDAY - SUNDAY, so it is an after-work option every day. AGFG lists it with Vegan Options and Takeaway, which helps if one of you skips meat or you need a plan B at home. We could not read menu prices.
