Correction (10 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 9 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.

This page looks at vegan-friendly menus and vegan food in Brighton. It covers six places, all in Brighton, and reports only what each venue or a named listing says about vegan dishes.

No place here is claimed to be fully vegan. Little Sister’s own site mentions vegetarian and vegan dishes, Sons Of Mary’s menu prints markers beside its dishes, and four more carry the Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG) tag Vegan Options.

Every place was checked against two independent sources, and none of this replaces asking about the kitchen. A menu marker is the venue’s word, and an AGFG tag is a listing feature.

Little Sister — 350 Bay Street, Brighton VIC 3186

Little Sister’s own site says the cafe “proudly offers a selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes that are as delicious as they are wholesome.” The pages we read do not say which dishes those are, so we cannot name one. AGFG also lists Breakfast and Takeaway for the cafe, and the site carries no recent date we could find, so check it is current.

Ask: Which of the vegetarian dishes are vegan today, and are they made on shared equipment?

Sons Of Mary — 14 Spink St, Brighton VIC 3186

Sons Of Mary’s menu prints a marker after each dish name, and (VG) appears on the three dishes copied below. Its Warmed Focaccia is printed at $12, Mt Zero Olives at $12 and Sautéed Garden Greens at $14. AGFG also lists Vegan Options for the cafe. The letters are the venue’s own, so we report them as printed and do not turn them into allergen advice.

On the menu (copied from sonsofmary.com.au/dinner-menu on 9 October 2026):

  • Warmed Focaccia (V)(DF)(GFO)(VG)(NF): $12
  • Mt Zero Olives (GF)(V)(VG)(DF)(NF): $12
  • Sautéed Garden Greens (GF)(V)(VG)(NFO): $14

Menu markers: (V), (VG), (DF) and (GF) sit beside the dish names exactly as printed, and (GFO) and (NFO) appear too, which we have not decoded beyond what the menu says.

BAMMI — 21 Carpenter St, Brighton VIC 3186

AGFG lists Vegan Options and Takeaway for BAMMI. Its own site lists opening from 9:30am to 6pm, Monday to Sunday. We could not read a menu with vegan markers, so there is no dish to point to, only the listing tag.

Fully plant-based or options: AGFG tags options only, so we are not claiming a fully plant-based menu.

Henrys — 3 Well St, Brighton VIC 3186

AGFG lists Vegan Options for Henrys, and that tag is the only vegan detail we have for it. We could not find a menu with vegan markers to quote, and we have no hours line to report, so check both before you go.

Kitchen statement: We could not find one published, so ask whether vegan dishes share a fryer or grill with other food.

Aromi Restaurant — 310-312 New Street, Brighton VIC 3186

AGFG lists Vegan Options for Aromi Restaurant, along with Child Friendly, Takeaway and Alfresco Dining. We have no menu markers to quote, so the tag is the whole picture. Italian kitchens commonly use cheese, egg and butter in dishes that can look plant-based, which is why the question below matters.

Ask: Which dishes can be made without cheese, egg and butter, and does the kitchen keep them separate?

Bantatthong Restaurant — 423 Bay Street, Brighton VIC 3186

AGFG lists Vegan Options, Child Friendly and Takeaway for Bantatthong Restaurant. Its site’s store hours list Monday to Thursday from 4.30pm to 9.30pm, Friday from 4.30pm to 10.00pm, and on Saturday and Sunday a lunch session from 11:30am to 2:30pm plus evening hours from 4:30pm. We have no menu markers to quote.

Ask: Some Thai curry pastes and sauces are made with shrimp or fish products, so ask how the vegan option is prepared.

Quick answers

Is there a fully vegan restaurant in Brighton?

Among the six places on this page we did not find one that describes itself as fully vegan. Little Sister’s site mentions vegetarian and vegan dishes, Sons Of Mary’s menu marks dishes (VG), and the other four carry the AGFG tag Vegan Options.

Which Brighton places mark vegan dishes on the menu?

Sons Of Mary is the one on this page that prints (VG) beside dishes, including Warmed Focaccia, Mt Zero Olives and Sautéed Garden Greens. Little Sister’s site names vegan dishes in general but, in the pages we read, does not mark individual ones.

Can I find vegan options at a Thai or Vietnamese restaurant in Brighton?

AGFG lists Vegan Options for Bantatthong Restaurant, which is Thai, and for BAMMI, which is Vietnamese. Both are tags from the listing rather than menu markers, so ask which dishes are vegan and how they are prepared.

Do Brighton places with vegan options have a dedicated kitchen?

We did not find a dedicated-kitchen statement for any of the six places on this page. Little Sister, Sons Of Mary, BAMMI, Henrys, Aromi Restaurant and Bantatthong Restaurant should each be asked directly about shared fryers and equipment.

How we checked

We checked every place on this page against at least two independent sources on 9 October 2026: OpenStreetMap, the places’ own websites and the Australian Good Food Guide. Every price is copied exactly as printed on the page linked under Sources, on 9 October 2026. Menus, prices and opening hours change, so check with the venue before you go. The cover photo is illustrative, from Unsplash, and does not show any place on this page.
