Correction (4 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 3 October 2026.

Is there Japanese food near Brooklyn? Not as a restaurant we could verify. This is a thin page: two places, both shopping-centre food courts, one in Altona North and one in Sunshine.

Our notes record a sushi counter in each food court, but we have not confirmed which tenant it is or what it serves, so treat both as leads to check. Sunshine is outside Brooklyn’s own area and is included only because nothing closer turned up.

Both entries rest on the centres’ own directories and OpenStreetMap. Menu prices were not copied, which is why none appear here.

Altona Gate Shopping Centre (food court and takeaway) — 124-134 Millers Road, Altona North VIC 3025

Altona Gate’s own site lists a Food Court & Takeaway section, alongside Cafes & Restaurants and Fresh Food. Its listed centre hours are Monday to Wednesday 9:00am - 5:30pm, Thursday and Friday 9:00am - 9:00pm, Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm and Sunday 10:00am - 5:00pm. These are the centre’s general hours, and individual stores may differ. We have no tenant menu or price to quote.

Decoder: Sushi is seasoned rice paired with fillings such as fish, egg or vegetables; a takeaway counter typically sells it as rolls or boxes, but we have not confirmed what this one sells.

Sunshine Marketplace (food court and takeaway) — 80 Harvester Road, Sunshine VIC 3020

This one is in Sunshine, not Brooklyn. The centre’s own directory lists a Food Court & Takeaway section with tenants including Asia Delight, Bon Bons Bakery, Boost Juice and Donut King. Its listed centre hours match Altona Gate’s: Monday to Wednesday 9:00am - 5:30pm, Thursday and Friday 9:00am - 9:00pm, Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm, Sunday 10:00am - 5:00pm. Tenant hours are listed separately, so check the one you want.

How to order: Check the centre’s food court directory for the tenant’s own hours before you travel, since they can differ from the centre’s.

How we checked

We checked every place on this page against at least two independent sources on 3 October 2026: OpenStreetMap, the places’ own websites, nominatim.openstreetmap.org and sunshinemarketplace.com.au. We copied no menu prices from these places’ own pages, so this page prints none. Menus, prices and opening hours change, so check with the venue before you go. The cover photo is illustrative, from Unsplash, and does not show any place on this page.
