Dogs may go unleashed in a park only in the spots and at the times the council permits. This page gives each park’s official status first, then the two venues that carry a pet-friendly statement of some kind.
Seven places are listed, in and around Brooklyn: five parks and two venues. They sit in Brooklyn, Altona North, Sunshine North, Spotswood, West Footscray and Kingsville.
We checked each one against council pages or the venue’s own site, plus a second source. Where a source is thin, the entry says so. Where we could not find a rule, the answer is to check the council order or ask the venue.

Brooklyn Reserve — Nolan Avenue, Brooklyn VIC 3012
Status: on the Hobsons Bay council off-leash list, and the only Brooklyn park there. The council’s listing gives the address as Nolan Avenue. The same council says dogs must be on lead everywhere other than the listed areas, under effective voice control, with on-the-spot penalties. The council also lists a playground here, and Wikipedia says the reserve has a dog park and barbecue area. Wikipedia is a secondary source, so we have not confirmed the barbecue on a council page.
Off-leash status: Listed by Hobsons Bay council as an off-leash location; check the council order for any conditions before you let the lead go.
G J Hosken Reserve — Blackshaws Road (Kororoit Creek, Grieve Parade), Altona North VIC 3025
Status: listed by Hobsons Bay council as an off-leash location, at Kororoit Creek, Grieve Parade and Blackshaws Road. An older council consultation page says the reserve is already a dog off lead area and runs alongside Kororoit Creek. That page also described plans, so we make no claim here about toilets, fencing or a barbecue shelter. The current council listing is the one to trust.
Off-leash status: Off-leash per the council listing; the sources give a boundary description rather than a street number, so follow the creek and Blackshaws Road.
Duke Street Reserve — 200 Duke St, Sunshine North VIC 3020
Status: listed on Brimbank council’s off-leash dog parks page, at Duke Street, Sunshine North. The council table has columns for enclosure, a dog drinking fountain and agility equipment, but the page text does not show which ticks belong to which column. So we do not claim fencing or a fountain. Per the council, dogs must be on lead near children’s play areas, near barbecues and close to paths unless signed otherwise.
Off-leash status: Off-leash as listed by Brimbank council; read the signs, because the on-lead zones sit inside the same reserve.
Edwards Reserve — Area bounded by Truman, Brunel and Greene Streets, Spotswood VIC 3015
Status: time-restricted. Hobsons Bay council lists the area bounded by Truman, Brunel and Greene Streets in Spotswood as dogs permitted off-leash before nine in the morning and after nine at night. Outside those times the dog stays on lead. That makes it a very early or very late park, not an anytime one.
Off-leash status: Off-leash only in the council’s early-morning and late-evening window; on lead at every other time.
Hansen Reserve — 35A Roberts Street, West Footscray VIC 3012
Status: Maribyrnong council calls it a designated dog off-lead area, with one exception: the area between the tennis courts and Roberts Street. The council describes it as a large regional open space with a playground and multiple sports fields. Its feature list also shows a drinking fountain, picnic table, public tennis court and walking path, as listed.
Bring: Bags, and a lead for the stretch between the tennis courts and Roberts Street, where the council says off-lead is not permitted.
The Jolly Miller (Altona North) — Shops 3A - 3C Millers Junction Retail, 302-330 Millers Road, Altona North VIC 3025
Status: a cafe, not a park. Its site lists a Doggy Menu alongside the brunch, dinner and alcohol menus. The Doggy Menu PDF is image-only; read visually, it shows a Puppacino of frothy lactose-free milk topped with carob powder. We could not find a published statement on whether dogs are allowed inside or only outside, so the menu is the evidence, not a policy.

Inside or outside only: Not published that we could find; OpenStreetMap tags outdoor seating, so ask the venue where dogs may sit.
Barbarian Brewing Co. — 289 Geelong Road, Kingsville VIC 3012
Status: listed as pet friendly on AGFG, which shows Fully Licensed, Functions, Live Music, Lunch and Pet Friendly as features. The brewpub’s own site does not mention dogs, so AGFG is the only source for this. Its site gives the address as 289 Geelong Rd, Kingsville, and says it brews fresh, on-site. Its site also lists opening hours Wednesday to Sunday, with kitchen closing times printed alongside.
Inside or outside only: AGFG says Pet Friendly and nothing more, so ask before you bring a dog and ask where it can go.
