Sweet or savoury is the first call at breakfast, so this page lays out six cafes and what their menus actually print. Two are in Brunswick and four are in Brunswick East.
Four of them publish menu prices we could copy, and those prices sit beside each entry. For KINES and Mary Miller Cafe we copied no prices, so there is no dish pinned down for either.
Hours come from AGFG listings or the cafe’s own site, and each entry says which. Every place was confirmed at two independent sources on 4 October 2026.

Mokum — 359 Sydney Road, Brunswick VIC 3056
Mokum’s menu prints Eggs your Way (v/gfo) at $13 and Just Toast (vg/gfo) at $7. For something bigger it lists Ontbijt Uitsmijter (gfo) at $21 and Spek Pannenkoek at $19. AGFG tags Mokum for breakfast and for vegan and vegetarian options. AGFG hours list it closed Monday and Tuesday, open Wednesday to Saturday from 9:00 AM, and Sunday until 4:00 PM. That is the only hours source we found, so it may be out of date.

The order: Spek Pannenkoek at $19 if you want sweet or savoury decided for you; spek is Dutch for bacon, so it reads savoury.
KINES — 11 Hope Street, Brunswick VIC 3056
AGFG tags KINES for breakfast, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. It also tags it child friendly, pet friendly, takeaway and alfresco dining. AGFG lists it closed Tuesday and open from 8:00 AM on the other days. That is the only hours source we found, so it may be out of date. We could not find a menu with prices.
Go for: an early start on any day except Tuesday, going by the AGFG hours.
Bellboy Cafe — 131 Nicholson Street, Brunswick East VIC 3057
Bellboy’s menu prints Eggs on Toast at $13.00, scrambled, fried or poached on seeded sourdough. Bellboy’s menu lists an Egg & bacon muffin at $9.50 and Toast at $10.50. Bellboy’s menu also prints Avocado Smash Toast at $20.00. AGFG hours show opening from 7:00 AM Monday to Saturday and from 8:00 AM on Sunday. That is the only hours source we found, so it may be out of date.

El Mirage — 349 Lygon Street, Brunswick East VIC 3057
El Mirage’s menu prints a BACON & EGG ROLL at $17.00 and TOAST at $7.50. El Mirage’s menu lists BIG BREKKIE at $28.00 and ORGANIC FRUIT TOAST at $14.00. Its own site lists 7am to 3pm every day. AGFG also tags it for breakfast and free wifi.

Carolina Cafe & Bar — 11 Nicholson Street, Brunswick East VIC 3057
Carolina’s online menu prints Big Breakfast (GFO) at $27.00. Carolina’s menu lists Avocado Smash at $22.00 for a lighter savoury start. Its site also carries a kids menu, and AGFG tags breakfast, vegan and vegetarian options. AGFG hours show weekdays from 7:00 AM, weekends from 8:00 AM, and Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:00 PM. That is the only hours source we found, so it may be out of date.

Mary Miller Cafe — 55-63 Nicholson Street, Brunswick East VIC 3057
AGFG tags Mary Miller Cafe for breakfast, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. It also tags pet friendly, takeaway and alfresco dining. We could not find hours or menu prices to quote, so this entry stays short rather than guess.
Go for: a breakfast stop on Nicholson Street, after confirming hours with the cafe.
