Six sit-down dinners in and around Camberwell make this list: four in Camberwell, one in Hawthorn East and one in Canterbury. What they share is a romantic tag on AGFG (the Australian Good Food Guide), so we have sorted them by what each place publishes rather than by any promise about the night.
Each entry ends with one practical note, such as a stage, a split-or-splurge read from the menu prices we copied, or an exit plan. Every place was checked against two independent sources, and hours are credited to whoever printed them. We did not find accessibility details on the pages we read, so ask when you book if step-free access matters.

Gracie Greco — 536 Riversdale Road, Camberwell VIC 3124
AGFG tags Gracie Greco as romantic, and its own site lists dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 5.30pm to late, so this is an evening booking. The dine-in menu prints Moussaka: Traditional Beef, eggplant, patata bake at $37 and Saganaki: fried kefalograviera, olive jam at $18. AGFG also lists alfresco dining, and the site lists a gluten free menu. Another directory still shows older hours, so ring first and we could not find published accessibility details.

AGFG tags Con Noi as romantic and lists alfresco dining and vegan options. Its site prints dinner from 5pm to 9pm Tuesday to Sunday and says BYO wine is welcome with a per-bottle charge, which suits anyone who wants to bring their own bottle. The dinner menu prints Agnolotti Funghi at $29.90 and Linguine Marinara at $39.90.

AGFG tags Franco-Belge as romantic and lists BYO and alfresco dining. Its site lists lunch from 12pm to 3pm Tuesday to Friday and dinner from 5pm, so a daytime date is on the table. The prix fixe lunch page prints Prix Fixe Lunch Menu 2 Course at $49 and Prix Fixe Lunch Menu 3 Course at $59. AGFG files the address under Hawthorn East while the site says Camberwell, so use the street address in the heading.

AGFG tags Mongkok Tea House as romantic and lists vegan options. Its AGFG listing shows Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Friday and Saturday from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM, and closed Monday and Tuesday. The camberwellshopping.com.au directory describes neon lights over a retro diner-esque room and a smoke-encased cocktail released in front of you. We could not find menu prices, so budget by asking.
Talk-ability: The directory points to neon lights and a cocktail served as theatre, and we could not find a note on noise or music, so ask when you book if you want to hear each other.
Fiorelli Restaurant and Bar — 209 Camberwell Road, Hawthorn East VIC 3123
AGFG tags Fiorelli as romantic and lists alfresco dining. Its site says it opens seven days from 11.30am for lunch, dinner and drinks, and says it was established in 1991. The directory places it opposite the Rivoli theatre. The site lists an express lunch of pasta or risotto with a glass of house wine at $29 between 11.30am and 3.30pm, so ask whether it applies on the day.

AGFG tags The Havelock Place as romantic and lists vegan options and alfresco dining. Its site lists dinner Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 5.30pm to 9.30pm, and Friday and Saturday from 5.30pm to 10.00pm. The menu prints Sri Lankan Red Chicken Curry at $30 and Dry Pepper Venison Stew at $36. If you have not tried Sri Lankan food before, an egg hopper is a bowl-shaped fermented pancake with an egg in the middle.
