Four places answer this page: three ramen and dumpling spots on Koornang Road in Carnegie, and one tonkatsu restaurant on Glen Huntly Road in Glen Huntly. Ramen is a noodle soup, and tonkatsu is a breaded, fried pork cutlet; both are worth knowing before you read a menu.

Its site leads with the line ‘Your Favourite Tonkotsu Ramen from Hakata.’ AGFG lists Takeaway, Delivery and Vegetarian Options, and the site says a public holiday 15% surcharge applies.
Decoder: Tonkotsu ramen means a pork-bone broth base, and that is the style its own site leads with.
Shyun Ramen Bar — 73 Koornang Road, Carnegie VIC 3163
Shyun Ramen Bar is at 73 Koornang Road. Its site says a steamy bowl of Shyun ramen will have you transported to the real Japan, and lists Tuesday to Sunday lunch 12-3PM, Tuesday to Sunday dinner 5-9PM, and Monday closed. AGFG lists Takeaway, Delivery and Vegetarian Options. A different restaurant called Shyun is also on Koornang Road, so match the address before you go.
Menu says: The site’s line about a steamy bowl of Shyun ramen; we could not pair prices to items from its menu file, so none are printed.
Ramen Dumpling House — 134 Koornang Road, Carnegie VIC 3163
Ramen Dumpling House is at 134 Koornang Road, and AGFG lists it as Child Friendly, with Takeaway, Delivery and Vegetarian Options. We could not find a working website of its own, so we print no hours or dishes, and we could not confirm from the restaurant itself that it is still trading; check before you go. The name points to ramen and dumplings; dumplings are filled dough parcels, usually steamed or pan-fried.
How to order: Takeaway and Delivery are AGFG ticks, so ask the restaurant how to place either before you plan around them.
Katsumo — 1103 Glen Huntly Road, Glen Huntly VIC 3163
Katsumo is at 1103 Glen Huntly Road, and we file it as a tonkatsu restaurant. Its site lists Lunch Sat & Sun 12:00 - 3, Dinner Tue - Sun 5:30 - 9, and Closed Monday. It says walk-ins only, and that takeaway is available by calling or visiting to place your order. AGFG lists it as Child Friendly.
Decoder: Tonkatsu is a breaded, fried pork cutlet, and the walk-ins-only line on its site means you turn up rather than book.
