This page is for planning a dinner date around Elsternwick: five sit-down restaurants, two in Elsternwick, two in Ripponlea and one in Caulfield. Each entry says what its sources print about hours and what to ask, so you can pick a stage and a plan B.
Every place was matched against at least two sources, and hours are credited to whoever printed them. Bistro Goemon is the only one with menu prices on this page, and we copied exactly four. The rest, you will need to read on the venue’s own site.

Copycat Restaurant’s own site lists opening hours: closed Monday, 5pm to 9:30pm Tuesday to Thursday, 5pm to 10.30pm Friday, 12pm to 10.30pm Saturday and 12pm to 9:30pm Sunday. AGFG lists it with Vegan Options, Takeaway and Alfresco Dining. OpenStreetMap, its site and AGFG all agree on the Gordon Street address in Elsternwick.
Stage: Good for a third date or an anniversary when you want a weekend lunch slot as well as an evening one; plan B is the Takeaway tag AGFG lists.
Bistro Goemon — 281 Glen Huntly Road, Elsternwick VIC 3185
Bistro Goemon is a Japanese restaurant at 281 Glen Huntly Road. Its site says, in its takeaway line, “Take away reservation is available, please visit here to make it.” Its menu lists Prawn tempura covered with crispy corn flakes.(4pcs) at $16. It also lists Soft shell crab spring roll at $16, Dumpling at $16 and Boiled soy beans w hints of pink salt at $6. Its details may have changed, so check the menu before you go.

Attica’s own site, OpenStreetMap and AGFG all give 74 Glen Eira Road, Ripponlea, which is next door to Elsternwick. We have not printed its hours or any prices here, and its details may have changed, so check before you go.
Say this: When you book, ask for the current booking times and menu format, because this page does not print them.
Shelly — 809 Glen Huntly Road, Caulfield VIC 3162
Shelly is at 809 Glen Huntly Road in Caulfield, and its own site and AGFG agree on that. AGFG lists hours of 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM Monday to Thursday, 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM Saturday and 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM Sunday, with Friday shown as closed. AGFG also lists Child Friendly and Vegan Options.
Exit plan: The listed Sunday start of 6:30 PM and the 11:00 PM close give you a long evening to play with; confirm the hours first, as AGFG’s directory may be out of date.
Mission District — 76 Glen Eira Road, Ripponlea VIC 3185
Mission District’s own site lists Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm, at 76 Glen Eira Road, Ripponlea. AGFG lists Child Friendly and Vegan Options. Its details may have changed, so check before you go.
