Correction (4 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 4 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.

Six dessert stops: gelato, brownies, bakery cakes, a cake shop and cafe, a cafe with a cakes listing, and a Turkish dessert shop. Five are in Fairfield and one, Cuppa Turca, is in Northcote, so the list is in and around Fairfield.

Prices are printed only where we could copy them from a menu or shop page. Where we could not read one, the table says so. Each entry’s opening times are taken from the source it names, so they could be stale.

One caution: Brazen Brownies’ own site lists a Thomastown address, so its Station Street dessert bar rests on OpenStreetMap and AGFG listings.

Gelato Papa (Fairfield) — 72A Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078

Its site says it makes hand-made gelato in Preston and Fairfield, and that it is Melbourne’s first Coeliac Australia certified gelato maker. The site says there is a good selection of vegan flavours in the cabinet that change from season to season, and that you can grab a take-away tub anytime. Its cakes page prints Tartufo (gf) from $13.00 and Lamington (gf) at $21.00. We could not find a per-scoop price on the pages we read.

On the menu (copied from gelatopapa.com.au on 4 October 2026):

  • Tartufo (gf): from $13.00
  • Vegan Bombe Alaska (gf): from $49.00
  • Gaytime (gf): from $49.00
  • Raspberry Ripple (gf): $59.00

Order: Its site lists Tuesday and Wednesday 2pm - 8.30pm, Saturday 1pm - 9pm and Monday closed, so check the day before you go.

Brazen Brownies & Dessert Bar — 141A Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078

The AGFG listing shows a Brazen Brownies & Dessert Bar Gelato Range, and the brand’s site lists a Sinfully Salted Caramel Peanut Brownie as Gluten Free. Its online shop prints Brookie Brownie at $7.50 and BROWNIE CLASSICS GIFT BOX (6 pieces) at $55.00. Its FAQ says it does not offer vegan brownies at this time. Those prices are from the online shop, not a dessert-bar menu, and the brand’s own site lists a Thomastown address, so the Station Street shop rests on OpenStreetMap and AGFG.

On the menu (copied from brazenbrownies.com.au on 4 October 2026):

  • Brookie Brownie: $7.50
  • Caramel Pretzel Brownie: $7.50
  • Espresso Brownie: $7.50
  • BROWNIE CLASSICS GIFT BOX (6 pieces): $55.00

The build: Single-serve brownies are listed in Brookie, Caramel Pretzel and Espresso versions; AGFG lists hours of 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday to Thursday and 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.

Gusto Bakery Fairfield — 139A Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078

Its site lists slices, biscuits, desserts, savouries, yeast raised goods and seasonal items. It also lists a Marbled Chocolate Cheesecake marked GF. We could not find prices on its site. The site lists Monday to Friday 8 am - 6 pm and Saturday and Sunday 8 am - 4 pm.

Order: Start with the Marbled Chocolate Cheesecake (GF) that its site lists; we could not find prices there.

Nikos Cakes (Fairfield cafe) — 254-256 Wingrove Street, Fairfield VIC 3078

AGFG tags it Breakfast, Child Friendly, Alfresco Dining, Disabled Access, Fully Licensed, Takeaway and Vegetarian Options. AGFG’s hours show 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM Monday to Thursday and 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, with Sunday from 7:00 AM; OpenStreetMap’s tag runs to 23:00. We could not find hours on its own site, and we could not read a Fairfield menu, so there are no prices here.

Mess forecast: The pages we read do not describe the cakes, so we will not guess; confirm the hours first if you plan to drop in late.

Cafe Pantheon (AGFG: Pantheon Cakes) — 88 Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078

OpenStreetMap names it Cafe Pantheon, and the AGFG listing is titled Pantheon Cakes at the same address, 88 Station Street. OpenStreetMap’s tag lists 09:00-20:00 every day; that is a map tag only, so check before you go. We could not find a website or a menu, so there are no prices.

Order: The listing names cakes, but we could not find what is on the counter, so we will not guess; ring ahead.

Cuppa Turca — 262 High Street, Northcote VIC 3070

Its site says it has been churning dondurma and making fresh kunefe since 2017; dondurma is Turkish ice cream and kunefe is a hot cheese-and-pastry dessert in syrup. AGFG lists it as best known for kunefe and dondurma, and tags Child Friendly, Alfresco Dining, Takeaway and Delivery, plus Gluten Free Options and Vegan Options. Its site lists Monday to Thursday 6pm til 10pm, Friday 6pm til 11pm, and Saturday and Sunday 3pm til 11pm. Its menu is images, so we could not read prices.

Mess forecast: The pages we read do not describe how the desserts are served, so we will not guess.
