This page answers a simple question: where do you pick up a feed around Fairfield without sitting down? It covers five places, three on Station Street in Fairfield and two on High Street in Northcote, so the list runs in and around the suburb.
Each place was checked against two independent sources: OpenStreetMap, the Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG) and the venue’s own site where we found one. We could not read menu prices at any of them, so this page prints none. Where hours appear, we say whose listing they come from.

Rooster Bar — 128 Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078
AGFG tags Rooster Bar with Takeaway and Delivery, plus Vegetarian Options, Vegan Options and Gluten Free Options. AGFG’s hours listing runs 10:30 AM to 8:30 PM, Monday to Sunday. Because owners keep that directory up themselves, those times may no longer be right. We could not find a website or menu prices.
The move: Ring ahead to confirm the AGFG hours, then ask what is on the board for chicken.
Tasty Banh Mi — 146B Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078
AGFG tags Tasty Banh Mi with Takeaway, Vegetarian Options and Disabled Access. A banh mi is a Vietnamese baguette filled with meat or vegetables, pickles and herbs, and it travels well in a paper bag. We could not find published hours or prices, and the web page listed on OpenStreetMap no longer loads.
What it is: A Vietnamese baguette shop on Station Street, listed by AGFG and OpenStreetMap only.
Zambrero Fairfield — 134 Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078
Zambrero is a Mexican-style fast food chain, and its Fairfield store page lists ordering with DoorDash. The page gives hours of 11:00am to 8:30pm from Sunday to Wednesday, and 11:00am to 9:00pm from Thursday to Saturday. The menu sits on a separate page we could not read, so there are no prices here.
The move: Check the store page for the day you are going, because closing time shifts from Thursday.
Westgarth Fish & Chips — 99 High Street, Northcote VIC 3070
This one is over the border in Northcote, on High Street. AGFG tags it Takeaway, Delivery and Child Friendly. Its AGFG hours list Monday as closed, 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM Tuesday to Thursday, 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM Friday, and 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. We could not find prices.
The move: Skip Monday, and treat the AGFG hours as a guide until you have called.
Northcote Fish & Chips — 341 High Street, Northcote VIC 3070
Its own site describes it as serving “traditional and vegan fish & chips & a huge range of vegan burgers & traditional burgers” and uses the line “DIRECT DELIVERY TAKEAWAY”. AGFG adds Child Friendly, Delivery, Gluten Free Options and Vegetarian Options. The site shows prices as images, and its hours are shown with hidden characters, so we are not printing either.
What it is: A chippy that lists vegan and traditional fish and chips side by side, so a mixed group can order from one shop.
