Correction (10 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 9 October 2026.
A date in Glen Waverley needs a place you can judge before you leave the house, so this page covers one pub and says so plainly. That is the only drinks venue in the suburb that passed our two-source check, and padding the list would only waste your evening.
Mountain View Hotel is the pick, read for talk-ability from what its listings publish. We checked it against OpenStreetMap, its own website and the Australian Good Food Guide, and where a detail comes from AGFG we say so, because those tags are the listing’s, not ours.
The quick picks
| If you’re after | Head to | Where |
|---|---|---|
| A pub for a drink and a yarn | Mountain View Hotel | 186 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley |
Mountain View Hotel — 186 Springvale Road, Glen Waverley VIC 3150
Mountain View Hotel is the only place here, so there is no shortlist to weigh, just one pub to judge on its published facts. AGFG lists Live Music for it, and live music listed usually means louder, so ask about the music before you lock it in for a first catch-up. Its own site lists opening hours of Mon - Sun: 10:00am - 04:00am, but we found no date on the pages we read, so confirm before you go. AGFG also lists Alfresco Dining, which is your plan B question for a dry night, and we could not find accessibility details, so ring ahead if step-free entry matters.
Talk-ability: AGFG lists Live Music for this pub, so ask when the music runs before you pick it for a first chat.

How we checked
We checked every place on this page against at least two independent sources on 9 October 2026: OpenStreetMap, the places’ own websites and the Australian Good Food Guide. We copied no menu prices from these places’ own pages, so this page prints none. Menus, prices and opening hours change, so check with the venue before you go. The cover photo is illustrative, from Unsplash, and does not show any place on this page.
