Correction (3 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 3 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.

Seven cafes make this list of brekkie spots in and around Hampton. Four have Hampton addresses, and three sit across the border in Sandringham, on Station Street and Bay Road.

Each one is built from what it publishes: its own site, a menu PDF where there was one, and a second listing from the Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG), OpenStreetMap, The Urban List or Broadsheet. Five had menu prices we could copy. Two did not, and they are marked.

Sweet or savoury, pick a lane, then use the quick picks. Hours are shown as each source prints them, so check before you go.

Paperboy Coffee Bar — 370 Hampton Street, Hampton VIC 3188

Paperboy’s own site lists Monday to Friday 6:30 to 3:00, Saturday and Sunday 7:30 to 3:00, and public holidays 8:00 to 2:00. The menu PDF prints Eggs on Toast (GFO V) at $16 and a Three Cheeses Toastie (GFO V) at $14, plus a Bacon & Egg Roll at $12. The menu has a section headed “FOR THE KIDS”, and AGFG tags the cafe “Takeaway”. The menu notes a public holiday surcharge.

On the menu (copied from paperboycoffee.com on 3 October 2026):

  • Bacon & Egg Roll: $12
  • Eggs on Toast (GFO V): $16
  • Three Cheeses Toastie (GFO V): $14
  • Bagel with a Schmear: $10

The order: the Bacon & Egg Roll, listed at $12 on the Paperboy menu.

Merrymen — 2 Small Street, Hampton VIC 3188

Merrymen’s homepage reads “open 6.30am–3:30pm | kitchen 7.00am–3.00pm”, but its own pages do not agree on the closing time, so confirm before you go. The menu is headed “ALL DAY MENU”, with Eggs on Toast at $14.00 (poached, scrambled or fried on toast) and Chunky Avocado Toast (VG) (GFO) at $20.00, where the menu’s own legend says VG is vegan. We read these prices off menu images labelled May 2026, so the menu may have changed since. The menu footnotes a weekend and public holiday surcharge.

On the menu (copied from merrymenhampton.com on 3 October 2026):

  • Eggs on Toast: $14.00
  • Toast & Preserves (V): $8.00
  • Chunky Avocado Toast (VG) (GFO): $20.00
  • Dirty Bird: $26.00

Go for: Eggs on Toast at $14.00, the line listed under the all-day menu.

The Hamptons Bakery — 427 Hampton Street, Hampton VIC 3188

The Hamptons Bakery’s site says “Open 7 Days 6:30am - 4pm” and heads its menu “BREAKFAST & BRUNCH – ALL DAY”. It also describes “fresh bread and pastries baked exclusively in-house” and lists “Vegan Muesli Treats”. The winter menu PDF (June 2026 edition) prints The Hampton Breakfast Roll at $22, Eggs Your Way at $16 and Steak & Eggs at $30. Other listings give different hours, so we have used the bakery’s own. Its site says it is walk-in only.

On the menu (copied from thehamptonsbakery.com.au on 3 October 2026):

  • The Hampton Breakfast Roll: $22
  • Eggs Your Way: $16
  • Hamptons Bakery Sourdough Toast: $8.50
  • Steak & Eggs: $30

Go for: The Hampton Breakfast Roll, $22 on the winter menu PDF.

Lennox 3188 — 505 Hampton Street, Hampton VIC 3188

Lennox 3188 lists Monday to Friday 7.30am to 3pm and Saturday and Sunday 8am to 3pm. Its menu has a section headed “BREAKFAST (ALL DAY)”, with Toast at $9, Eggs Benny at $26 and Smashed Avo (v) (vgo) at $23. Sweet or savoury? The menu marks an Acai Bowl (vg) and a Mushroom Medley (vg) as vegan, and lists a “KIDS MENU (Under 12)”. It notes a weekend and public holiday surcharge.

On the menu (copied from lennoxhampton3188.com.au on 3 October 2026):

  • Toast: $9
  • Eggs Benny: $26
  • Build Your Own: $15
  • Smashed Avo (v) (vgo): $23

Roaster: Allpress, which the menu names for its espresso blend.

Our Little Ray of Sunshine — 50 Station Street, Sandringham VIC 3191

Our Little Ray of Sunshine’s own site lists Monday to Friday 6:30 am–3:00 pm and Saturday to Sunday 7 :00am–3:30 pm. It describes “a dedicated kids’ menu and a cosy play corner”. The June 2026 menu PDF prints Shakshuka at $23.50, Chunky Avo at $26 and Sandy Benny Brisket at $27, and the menu lists “almond crumble , coconut yoghurt (VGN, N)” as a vegan item. The menu notes a Sunday and public holiday surcharge.

On the menu (copied from littleray.com.au on 3 October 2026):

  • Sourdough Toast – two slices, butter & house jam or vegemite: $8.50
  • SANDY BENNY BRISKET: $27
  • CHUNKY AVO: $26
  • SHAKSHUKA: $23.50

The order: Shakshuka, listed at $23.50 on the June menu.

Black Squirrel Cafe — 20 Bay Road, Sandringham VIC 3191

Black Squirrel Cafe’s own site gave an address but no opening hours and no readable menu text when we looked on 3 October 2026, so we have no prices to give. OpenStreetMap carries the hours tag “Mo-Su 07:00-17:00”, last checked on 2024-11-21, and AGFG lists it as “Opens at 7:00 AM”, so treat the hours as unconfirmed. The site describes the cafe as a spot for “From early-morning coffees and weekend brunches to catch-ups with friends and family”.

Go for: the site’s own line, “Family & Chit-Chats Enjoy great food, coffee and quality time together.”

Port of Call — 7 Bay Road, Sandringham VIC 3191

Port of Call’s site lists Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 7:30am - 3:00 pm, and its banner reads “OPEN FOR ALL DAY BRUNCH”. The homepage also showed a separate set of Grand Final weekend hours on 3 October 2026; holiday weekends can carry different hours, so check before you go. The menu sits on the Me&U ordering app, which we could not read, so there are no prices here. An older Broadsheet page tags it “Good For Groups Kid-Friendly” and mentions “commuters grabbing a takeaway coffee as they run for the train”. Treat that page as background, not current detail.

Go for: the all-day brunch the site advertises, ordered through the Me&U app.

Merrymen marks its Chunky Avocado Toast (VG) (GFO) as vegan at $20.00, and Lennox 3188 marks an Acai Bowl (vg) and a Mushroom Medley (vg). How we checked

We checked every place on this page against at least two independent sources on 3 October 2026: the places’ own websites, the Australian Good Food Guide, OpenStreetMap, theurbanlist.com and Broadsheet. Every price is copied exactly as printed on the page linked under Sources, on 3 October 2026. Menus, prices and opening hours change, so check with the venue before you go. The photos are illustrative, from Unsplash: they show the kind of food or place, not the places on this page.
