Correction (3 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources between 2 October 2026 and 3 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.

Working remotely starts with a place that says yes to a laptop. Two of the five places on this page are public libraries, and the council says their study rooms are free to book, for up to two hours a session, with a library membership, and not for the conduct of business. The other three are cafes, and for them we can only report hours and menus, because none of the sources we read states a wifi or laptop policy.

Three places have Hoppers Crossing addresses and two are in Tarneit, so this page covers Hoppers Crossing and the area around it. Each entry says which suburb it is in. Where we could not read a price or a set of hours, the entry says that too.

Hoppers Crossing Library — Level 1, Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre, Derrimut Road, Hoppers Crossing VIC 3029

Wyndham City Council runs the library, and its page says “The study rooms are free to book.” It says of each of its two bookable rooms, the Rakali Room and the Yam Daisy Room, “The free public wifi network is available in the room.” The same booking conditions say the rooms “are not available for use for commercial enterprise or the conduct of business”, that “You must have a current library membership in order to request a booking”, and that bookings run “a maximum of two hours per session”, so read them before you plan a work day around a booked room. The council lists hours of Monday – Thursday : 9.30am – 8pm, Friday : 9.30am – 6pm, Saturday : 10am – 4pm and Sunday : 1:30pm – 5pm. The council’s page says all its libraries are closed on public holidays. The library also houses the council’s Family and Local History collection. The council’s address for the library gives no postcode; the one in the heading is the suburb’s, so confirm the exact address with the council before you go.

Desk price: Free: the council says the study rooms are free to book, on the conditions above.

Morris + Heath — 13/24-48 Old Geelong Road, Hoppers Crossing VIC 3029

Morris + Heath describes itself as “Takeaway specialty coffee, breakfast, brunch & lunch in Hoppers Crossing.” Its menu is published as an image on its homepage, and the homepage also has an opening hours section, so check the days before you head in. Toast is $9, and a latte, flat white or cappuccino is listed at $5. The food menu also prints a weekend surcharge and a public holiday surcharge.

On the menu (copied from morrisandheath.com on 2 October 2026):

  • Toast: $9
  • Eggs on toast: $15
  • Avo Toast: $25
  • Lamb Benedict: $28

Laptop policy: The sources we read state none, so ask before you set up.

Jock & Mack — 31 Old Geelong Road, Hoppers Crossing VIC 3029

Jock & Mack’s homepage describes “a modern Australian cafe serving breakfast, brunch and lunch all day.” Visit Werribee’s listing shows “Facilities Alfresco/Outdoor Dining Carpark Family Friendly Delivery available Takeaway Available”. The homepage also says “If you have a sweet tooth we have all the cakes, slices, donuts, cinnamon scrolls, biscuits, brownies”. We could not read a menu or prices, so this page prints none, and we have not printed hours either: confirm the days and times with the cafe.

Best for: A meal-first stop, going by the homepage line about breakfast, brunch and lunch all day.

Julia Gillard Library Tarneit — 150 Sunset Views Boulevard, Tarneit VIC 3029

This one is in Tarneit, not Hoppers Crossing. The council says “The study rooms at Hoppers Crossing Library, Point Cook Library, and Julia Gillard Library Tarneit are free to book.” Its council page lists “Silent Study Room 24 public access computers”, which we read as a silent study room plus public access computers. The council lists its hours as Monday - Thursday : 9am - 8pm, Friday : 9am - 6pm, Saturday : 10am - 4pm and Sunday : 1:30pm - 5pm. A notice on the council page says it is closed Tuesday 3 November for the public holiday.

Best for: Quiet, bookable study time, going by the council’s wording for the silent study room and the free-to-book rooms.

Degani Tarneit — Shop 7B, Tarneit Central Shopping Centre, 540 Derrimut Road, Tarneit VIC 3029

Also in Tarneit, inside the Tarneit Central Shopping Centre. Degani’s site has a locations page for this shop, and we have not printed hours for it, so check them with the cafe. Its menu sits on an ordering app we could not read, so there are no prices here.

Best for: A stop inside a shopping centre, going by its address. Ask about laptops first.

Quick answers

Where can you work remotely in Hoppers Crossing?

Two council libraries and three cafes are on this page. Hoppers Crossing Library has study rooms the council says are free to book, and Julia Gillard Library Tarneit is in Tarneit. The cafes are Morris + Heath and Jock & Mack in Hoppers Crossing and Degani in Tarneit.

Do the libraries have free study rooms and wifi?

The council says the study rooms at Hoppers Crossing Library and Julia Gillard Library Tarneit are free to book, but its booking conditions say they are not available for commercial enterprise or the conduct of business, need a current library membership, and run a maximum of two hours per session. For Hoppers Crossing Library it also says of each bookable room “The free public wifi network is available in the room.” We did not read a wifi statement for the Tarneit library.

Which of these are open in the evening?

Hoppers Crossing Library lists Monday – Thursday : 9.30am – 8pm, according to the council, and Julia Gillard Library Tarneit lists Monday - Thursday : 9am - 8pm. We have not printed hours for the three cafes, so check them with each cafe.

Do the cafes allow laptops or have wifi?

The sources we read do not say. We found no wifi or laptop policy for Morris + Heath, Jock & Mack or Degani Tarneit, so ask the cafe before you set up.

How we checked

We checked every place on this page against at least two independent sources between 2 October 2026 and 3 October 2026: council pages, pacificwerribee.com.au, OpenStreetMap, the places’ own websites and visitwerribee.com. Every price is copied exactly as printed on the page linked under Sources, on 2 October 2026. Menus, prices and opening hours change, so check with the venue before you go. The photos are illustrative, from Unsplash: they show the kind of food or place, not the places on this page.
