A pub’s website tells you plenty if you read it properly: the menu, the hours line, what it says about music and kids. This page does that for three pubs in and around Kalkallo, one in Kalkallo, one in Donnybrook and one in Craigieburn.
Each was checked against two independent sources, including the pub’s own site, OpenStreetMap and the Australian Good Food Guide. Every price is copied as printed, with the item beside it. Menus change, so ring ahead.

Kalkallo Hotel (Steak House and Pizzeria) — 1324 Hume Highway, Kalkallo VIC 3064
This is the local on the Hume Highway. Its site lists opening as Monday - Sunday 11.30am til late, and describes a steak house specialising in 100% Pure Angus Beef.
Pizzas, the site says, are available from 5pm onwards, and its menu prints Traditional pizza at $22. The site also asks groups of more than 20 to book ahead. Easy call for a family feed.

Donnybrook Hotel — 825 Donnybrook Road, Donnybrook VIC 3064
The Donnybrook Hotel’s site says it was established in 1863. It lists opening as everyday from 11am until Late, with the kitchen open from 11am to 9pm.
The site describes a spacious beer garden that can host 100+ and that hosts live music every week, plus an arcade-machine area for children. Its menu PDF, the November edition, prints Donny Burger at $23.50. The site asks you to order and pay at the bar, and we found no dated gigs on its events page.

Highlands Hotel (International Buffet) — 301 Grand Boulevard (cnr Aitken & Grand Blvds), Craigieburn VIC 3064
Highlands is the Craigieburn pick, and it runs on buffets. Its site describes all you can eat, buffet dining with an internationally inspired seasonal menu, and lists indoor and alfresco seating.
Its sessions page prints the weekday buffet lunch for adults and for seniors, with both prices listed below. The site says children are welcomed at Highland Bistro, with a kids play area. We did not publish hours, since the site lists sessions rather than opening times.
