Correction (10 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 9 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.
This page answers the searches for vegan food and the best vegan places in Kew East. The honest answer is that none of the four venues we checked is fully vegan. Each lists vegan options, so the useful part is what the listing says and what to ask.
Two venues are in Kew East and two are in Balwyn North. We checked each against OpenStreetMap, its own site and the Australian Good Food Guide. AGFG tags are listing features, so they are reported as listings, not guarantees. Menus change, so check with the venue.
The quick picks
| If you’re after | Head to | Order this | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cafe with an AGFG vegan listing | Kuche | see below | not printed here |
| Italian with a vegan listing | Di Palma’s | see below | not printed here |
| Cafe breakfast with options | Superbike Cafe Racers | see below | not printed here |
| Pizza with vegan cheese | Pizzeria Donut Bar Balwyn | see below | not printed here |
Kuche — 682 High Street, Kew East VIC 3102
AGFG lists Kuche with Vegan Options, along with breakfast, takeaway and alfresco dining. It is an options listing, not a fully plant-based one. Kuche’s site lists 7.00 am to 4.00 pm Monday to Friday and 8.00 am to 3.00 pm Saturday, and the site carries no recent date we could find. We could not read a menu with vegan markers, so the dishes behind the listing are unknown.
Ask: Which dishes the kitchen counts as vegan, since the AGFG tag does not name them.
Di Palma’s — 686 High Street, Kew East VIC 3102
AGFG lists Di Palma’s with Vegan Options, and the same listing carries child friendly, takeaway and alfresco dining. The menu prints markers, but not vegan ones in what we read. Olive Marinate, with fresh chilli and garlic, is $12 and is marked GF and DF, which stand for gluten free and dairy free. Those are not vegan statements, and we found no kitchen statement on shared equipment.
Menu markers: GF and DF are printed on Olive Marinate; ask the venue what it counts as vegan before you order.
Superbike Cafe Racers — 87 Doncaster Road, Balwyn North VIC 3104
Superbike Cafe Racers is in Balwyn North. AGFG lists it with Vegan Options, breakfast, takeaway and alfresco dining. Its ordering site prints Avocado on Toast at $27 and Eggs On Toast at $15. We could not read a vegan marker on either, so the listing is the only vegan signal we have.
Ask: Which menu items carry the vegan options the AGFG listing refers to.
Pizzeria Donut Bar Balwyn — 10 Doncaster Rd, Balwyn North VIC 3104
Pizzeria Donut Bar Balwyn is in Balwyn North. Its ordering site answers the vegan question directly: yes, it has vegan cheese. That is a statement about cheese, not a vegan menu. AGFG lists child friendly and takeaway. The site lists 17:00 to 20:30 Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday, and 17:00 to 21:30 Friday and Saturday, and it carries no date we could find.
Kitchen statement: The site says it has vegan cheese; we could not find a statement on shared ovens or equipment, so ask.
Quick answers
Where can I find vegan food in Kew East?
Kuche and Di Palma’s, both in Kew East, are listed by AGFG with Vegan Options. In Balwyn North, Superbike Cafe Racers has the same AGFG listing and Pizzeria Donut Bar Balwyn says on its site that it has vegan cheese.
Is there a fully vegan restaurant in Kew East?
Not among the four places on this page. Kuche, Di Palma’s and Superbike Cafe Racers are listed by AGFG with vegan options, and Pizzeria Donut Bar Balwyn says it has vegan cheese. All four serve non-vegan food too, so ask about the kitchen.
Can I get vegan pizza near Kew East?
Pizzeria Donut Bar Balwyn, in Balwyn North, says on its ordering site that it has vegan cheese. That does not cover the rest of the toppings or the kitchen, so ask what else is plant-based.
Do these places publish allergen or kitchen statements?
We found no statements on shared fryers or allergens at Kuche, Di Palma’s or Superbike Cafe Racers. Di Palma’s menu marks some items GF and DF, and Pizzeria Donut Bar Balwyn’s site speaks only about vegan cheese, so confirm with the venue.
