Sweet or savoury? Pick a lane before you pick a bakery. Four places near Kew sell baked goods and publish enough to check: Laurent for French pastry, Kew Breadworks for pies, rolls and a vanilla slice, a Woodfrog Bakery store on High Street, and Kuche over in Kew East for cakes. All four list their hours. Two publish prices we could copy, and the page says which.
That is a short list, and it stays short. A bakery with no menu we could read gets its address and hours, nothing more.

Laurent Bakery — 251 High Street, Kew VIC 3101
Laurent’s site lists Kew among its locations, with weekday hours of 7:00am to 4:30pm and weekend hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm. Its site offers “Order Online Pickup Today”. The prices below come from Laurent’s chain-wide online menu, not a Kew-specific list, so the counter may differ.
The pastry cabinet, as the menu prints it: a plain croissant is $5.90, a pain au chocolat (the same laminated dough wrapped round chocolate) is $7.30, a berry danish is $7.40, a chocolate eclair is $8.60 and a macaron is $3.10. A mille feuille, the “thousand leaves” of puff pastry layered with cream, is listed from $12.40.
The order: plain croissant, $5.90.
Go for: the sweet side. Everything we could price here is a pastry or a sweet.
Kew Breadworks Bakery & Cafe — 231 High Street, Kew VIC 3101
The savoury end of the strip. The cafe lists Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm, Saturday 8am to 4pm and Sunday 8:30am to 3:30pm, and its own menu pages carry prices. A home made beef pie is $4.50 on the hot food page, and the breakfast page has egg, bacon, tomato and mushrooms at $11. For a quick brekkie there is a small coffee and small egg bacon roll at $8.50, from 8am to 11am every day. The lunch page lists a chicken schnitzel at $9.50. On the sweet side, a French vanilla slice is $4 and a coffee is $3.50. The site says prices are subject to change.

Woodfrog Bakery — 141 High Street, Kew VIC 3101
This is the Kew store of a Woodfrog Bakery chain. Its store page lists 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm Saturday and 7am to 4:30pm Sunday, the latest weekday close of the four places here. The page we read has no menu and no prices, so we cannot say what is in the cabinet.
The order: no price to quote.
Go for: the weekday hours. It is listed open to 6pm, later than the other three.
Kuche — 682 High Street, Kew East VIC 3102
A cafe in Kew East rather than a bakery, but its own page says it prides itself on “fabulous cakes and pastries”, and its site menu has a Speciality Cakes page. It lists Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm and Saturday 8am to 3pm, and is closed on public holidays. The cafe menu is published as images, so we have no cake names or prices.

How we checked
On 2 October 2026 we read each venue’s own site and confirmed each address at a second source: OpenStreetMap for all four. Laurent’s prices come from the chain’s online Full Menu page, not a Kew-specific list; its Kew hours come from the chain’s locations page, and OpenStreetMap lists longer hours, so we use the venue’s. Kew Breadworks’ prices are copied from its own menu pages, with bare numbers where the page prints them without a dollar sign. Woodfrog’s store page prints the address and hours but no prices, and Kuche’s menu is images. We did not verify what any cabinet holds on a given day. The photos are illustrative, from Unsplash: they show the kind of bread, not these venues’ food.
