This is the casual end of Italian near Kew: the pizza shop with a take-away special, the deal board that changes with the day of the week, the family restaurant that says it has been going since 1986, and a pizza-and-bar spot on Glenferrie Road. One place is in Kew (Buoy Pizza), one is in Kew East (Vicky’s) and two are in Hawthorn (Amalfi and Santoni). Each entry says what the venue’s own pages claim, then the price, then the policy that matters at the counter: BYO or takeaway.
A note on words. Melbourne says parma, but Amalfi’s deal board spells it “parmi”, so we keep its spelling inside quotes and ours outside them. “Classic” and “gourmet” are the pizza shops’ own menu tiers, not styles.

Buoy Pizza — 7/14 Walpole Street, Kew VIC 3101
The style: a dine-in or takeaway pizza-and-pasta shop; the Kew Junction directory calls it a “Local value for money Italian pizza & pasta restaurant” and adds “Family Friendly.” The deal: the take-away special is two large traditional pizzas and a garlic bread for $41.90, “Pickup Only”, available 7 days, and the offer expires 31 December 2026. The classic: the Salsiccia (sausage) and the Margherita (V) both run $16.50 small, $18.50 medium and $20.50 large; the small Focaccia (V) is $13.00. Menu tells: “BUOY pizza dough contains no animal products & are vegan friendly”, which is the venue’s own claim. The takeaway menu says “Open 7 Days 12pm - 10pm”.

Amalfi Pizza & Pasta — 4/813 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn VIC 3122
The deals: Amalfi’s ordering page lists three weekday deals. Monday is a Large Classic Pizza for $14, “Available every Monday only”. Tuesday is “freshly made pasta for only $16”. Wednesday is “any parmi for just $19”; parmi is the shop’s spelling of parma. The ordering site lists store hours of 11:30am - 2:45am on Mondays and Tuesdays, and delivery from 6:00pm to 12:00am on every night except Tuesday, which its delivery panel marks “Closed”, so do not count on Tuesday delivery; the Glenferrie Traders Association lists 3:00 am closing for the same two nights, so check before a late order.
BYO / takeaway: its site takes pickup and delivery orders; BYO not stated. Verdict for: a Monday-to-Wednesday takeaway night.
Vicky’s Italian Restaurant & Pizza — 5/7 Strathalbyn Street, Kew East VIC 3102
Vicky’s site says “Our family-owned restaurant has been serving the local community with traditional Italian recipes since 1986.” The style: thin-crust traditional pizza; takeaway pizzas come “in 4 sizes from small to family size”. The classic: the dine-in Margherita (tomato, cheese, basil and garlic) is $18.00 small and $20.00 medium. For pasta, the Spaghetti Bolognaise is $25.90 and the Lasagne is $26.90. The Glenferrie Traders Association lists Santoni daily from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm and tells its story in two lines: “Santoni was founded in 2007”, and its story mentions “three spectacular levels, including a rooftop bar”. We did not get a priced menu for Santoni, so there is no price here and no dish to recommend. Menu tells: no claims read. BYO / takeaway: not stated.
