India @ Q — 234 High Street, Kew VIC 3101
The only Kew address on the list. Its Kew Junction directory entry says “We offer dine in, takeaway and event catering”, and its online ordering site lists delivery and pickup options. No hours and no menu prices came through in what we read. The move: order pickup, then check the menu on its ordering site.
Hooked Fish and Chipper — 669 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn VIC 3122
Fish and chips, per OpenStreetMap’s cuisine tag, with the directory tagline “Get Hooked on Healthy Seafood”. Listed hours are 11:30am to 8:30pm Sunday to Wednesday and 11:30am to 9pm Thursday to Saturday; OpenStreetMap’s tag has it an hour later each day, so the two sources disagree. Prices: not published in what we read. The move: fish and chips, and ask for the price at the counter.
Schnitz Hawthorn — Shop 4, 672 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn VIC 3122
A schnitzel is a flattened cut of meat, crumbed and fried; here the tags say chicken, and OpenStreetMap marks it takeaway. The Glenferrie directory lists 10:30am to 9pm, every day. Prices: not published in what we read. The move: schnitzel, and check the board.
NeNe Chicken Hawthorn — Unit 2, 672 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn VIC 3122
The directory says “NeNe Chicken is Korean Restaurant Franchise”, and the listing is tagged Korean and chicken. Listed hours are 12pm to 9pm every day. Prices: not published in what we read. The move: Korean chicken, and ask what sizes there are.
Kebabji Hawthorn — Unit 11, 672 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn VIC 3122

Master Roll Vietnam — 696 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn VIC 3122
Listed as Vietnamese, open 9am to 3pm every day, so this is a daytime stop. The name says rolls and the listing gives no menu, so we can’t say what is in them; for anyone new, a banh mi is the Vietnamese baguette roll filled with meat, pickled vegetables and herbs. How we checked
On 2 October 2026 we confirmed each counter at two independent sources: OpenStreetMap plus the Glenferrie Traders Association directory for the six Hawthorn places, and India @ Q’s online ordering site plus the Kew Junction Business Association directory. For most Hawthorn places the OpenStreetMap entry carries only a name, so the street address rests on the directory, which is also the source for every hour listed. Only India @ Q (the directory) and Schnitz Hawthorn (OpenStreetMap’s takeaway tag) are explicitly marked as takeaway in what we read; the other counters are takeaway-style places by their cuisine tags, and we did not find a source that says each one does takeaway. Neither source for India @ Q prints a postcode in its visible text; 3101 is Kew’s postcode in the Australia Post list. None of the sources gave a price, so we left prices out instead of using delivery apps. The photos are illustrative, from Unsplash: a pizza box and a street-food stall.
