Laverton Swim and Fitness Centre — 26 Jennings Street, Laverton VIC 3028
Hobsons Bay council’s pools page lists Laverton Swim and Fitness Centre with a 25-metre pool, a gymnasium, a cafe and aqua aerobics classes. Its own site describes a 25m indoor heated pool and a fully equipped, air-conditioned gymnasium. The site lists hours of 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on weekends and 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on public holidays. On its facilities page, Adult Swim is listed at $8.00 and Child Swim at $7.20.

Fitness For Her calls itself a women’s only gym in Altona Meadows, so it is not open to everyone. Its site lists studio hours of 5:45am to 8:00pm Monday to Thursday, 5:45am to 7pm Friday, 7:30am to 12:30pm Saturday and 9am to 12pm Sunday. The site also says kids are welcome anytime during operating hours, with no extra cost for bringing children along. We could not find a published price.

The centre’s own site describes 10 full-sized multipurpose playing courts, spectator seating, mezzanine space, change rooms and a large reception foyer. It says the centre accommodates adult and junior events for basketball and netball, plus sporting school holiday programs. Its site lists opening hours of 09:00 to 22:00 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 09:00 to 23:00 Wednesday, 08:00 to 23:00 Friday, 08:00 to 18:00 Saturday and 08:00 to 21:00 Sunday. Its court booking page lists casual shooting at $5.00 per person, per hour, between 9:30am and 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, though the notice carries an older date.
