Nothing on this page is secret. Each of the four places is on the record, either on a council page or the venue’s own site, which is a duller reason to overlook a place than a rumour but a more reliable one.
Two of them are in Laverton: Woods Street Arts Space and Parotta Station. Two are in Altona Meadows, the next suburb along: Fruits of the Meadows and the Altona Meadows Farmers’ Market at AB Shaw Reserve. That is why the page says in and around.
We checked each against at least two sources, including council pages, the venues’ own sites, the Australian Good Food Guide and a shopping centre directory. Where a source gives no hours, we give none.

Woods Street Arts Space — 44 Woods Street, Laverton VIC 3028
The council says Woods Street Arts Space is located at 44 Woods Street, Laverton, and describes it as offering a diverse range of free and low cost creative programs, workshops and activities. Its Front Gallery is described as an exhibition space for artists at all stages of their careers. The council also says the space is open for events and workshops or by appointment, and closed in January each year, which makes a spontaneous drop-in something of a gamble.
Find it: 44 Woods Street, Laverton, per the council, and check the council’s What’s On page first because it prints no fixed opening hours.
Parotta Station — 6 Neville Ave, Laverton VIC 3028
AGFG lists Parotta Station for Vegan Options, Takeaway and Alfresco Dining. Its own site gives the address as 2/6 Neville Avenue, so the unit number is part of finding it. The same site lists Monday as closed, Tuesday to Thursday from 5:00 PM, Friday and Saturday from 12:00 PM and Sunday from 12:00 PM. The menu prints C3 - KALDA PAROTTA, described as crispy fried golden colour parotta, at $9.50.

Fruits of the Meadows is a greengrocer inside Central Square Shopping Centre in Altona Meadows, listed at Shop 26A. Its own site and the centre’s directory agree on the shop number. The site says it has been in the fruit industry for 50+ years and is here to stay in the Meadows. It lists opening at 8AM every day, with Thursday and Friday closing at 7:00PM and the other days at 5:30PM. We found no prices on the site, so we print none.

Altona Meadows Farmers’ Market (AB Shaw Reserve) — AB Shaw Reserve, 2 Hall Avenue, Altona Meadows VIC 3028
The council describes the Altona Meadows Farmers’ Market as a farm fresh market showcasing local produce, with lots of fresh local produce, baked goods and hot food. It places the market at AB Shaw Reserve, 2 Hall Avenue, near the children’s play area. The council page lists the next dates as Sunday, 01 November 2026 and Sunday, 06 December 2026, from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM. It states no standing rule beyond those dates, so quote them and nothing more.
