Correction (4 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 4 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.

Six places for coffee in and around Macleod, spread across Heidelberg West, Heidelberg Heights, Bundoora and Rosanna. One is a roaster, one is a chain, and the rest are cafes or bakery cafes.

Each one was checked against two sources: the venue’s own site, the Australian Good Food Guide, OpenStreetMap or a store-finder feed. Hours are quoted with whose listing they come from, and prices appear only where a menu printed them. One roaster below is by appointment only, so read that entry before you drive over.

Gridlock Coffee Roasters — 8 Beatrice Avenue, Heidelberg West VIC 3081

This one is a roaster, not a cafe to sit in. Its own site calls the Beatrice Avenue address a roastery, open by appointment only, and sells coffee online. The site’s title reads “Award-Winning Coffee Roasters Melbourne”, which is the business describing itself. AGFG labels the listing a cafe, so file it under beans to buy, not a table to grab.

Roaster: Its own site says visits are by appointment only, so book ahead or order the beans online.

Baketico Heidelberg (Orr St) — 3/1 Orr Street, Heidelberg Heights VIC 3081

Baketico’s site describes its stores as curated bakery and larder shops, selling Raymond Capaldi’s Wonder Pies, artisanal breads and handmade sweets. It also says you’re always close to an expertly brewed coffee. AGFG tags the Orr Street store for takeaway. A coffee stop that doubles as a pastry run.

Go for: The site lists Monday to Saturday 7am to 3pm and Sunday 8am to 3pm, so it suits an early start any day.

Gloria Jean’s Bundoora Polaris — Shop A2 Polaris, Plenty Road, Bundoora VIC 3083

A chain store at Polaris on Plenty Road. OpenStreetMap tags it as a coffee shop, and the Gloria Jean’s own store-finder feed lists the Bundoora Polaris address. That feed gives Saturday as 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The other days are in the feed too, so check the store finder before you go.

The order: A chain coffee on a Saturday, with the feed listing 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM that day.

Bread & Butta (AgriBio Cafe) — 5 Ring Road, Bundoora VIC 3083

A weekday cafe inside the AgriBio building at La Trobe University, according to its own site. The site promises specialty coffee made by a trained barista, and AGFG tags takeaway. It does not name a roaster that we could find. Its listed hours run Monday to Friday only, and Saturday and Sunday are marked closed.

Laptop policy: We could not find a published laptop policy, so ask first, and note the listed hours are weekdays only.

Four Leaves Cafe Food Store — 37 Greville Road, Rosanna VIC 3084

Four Leaves says on its site, “We serve the best coffee in Rosanna.” That is the venue’s own claim, not an independent ranking. The same site calls it a cafe, delicatessen, bakery, wine shop and provedore. Its menu prints coffee 5.5/6.5, and the menu notes a Sunday surcharge.

On the menu (copied from fourleavescafe.com on 4 October 2026):

  • coffee: 5.5/6.5
  • corn fritters: $25.50
  • smashed avo: $26.50
  • reuben: $24.50

The order: The site lists Mon–Fri 6:30am – 2:30pm, Sat 7:30am – 2:00pm and Sun 8:00am – 2:00pm, with the coffee at 5.5/6.5 on its menu.

Nice Guy Eddie Coffee + Kitchen — 2/1 Orr Street, Heidelberg West VIC 3081

Its own site calls Nice Guy Eddie a neighbourhood cafe serving Supreme Coffee, known for sandwiches, house-baked treats and brunch. Naming the roaster on the page is the useful bit for a coffee list. AGFG tags it for breakfast, vegan options, pet friendly and child friendly. Its site shows Heidelberg West; AGFG says Heidelberg Heights.

Roaster: The site names Supreme Coffee, and lists opening hours for every day of the week.

How we checked

We checked every place on this page against at least two independent sources on 4 October 2026: the places’ own websites, the Australian Good Food Guide, OpenStreetMap, api.storepoint.co and niceguyeddiecoffeekitchen.square.site. Every price is copied exactly as printed on the page linked under Sources, on 4 October 2026. Menus, prices and opening hours change, so check with the venue before you go. The photos are illustrative, from Unsplash: they show the kind of food or place, not the places on this page.
