Six places, three suburbs, one thing in common: each carries a takeaway mention on a source. Dosa Hut is in Footscray, Sambal Kampung, Palazzo, Roti Road and Rice Workshop are in Maribyrnong, and Anchor Fish Bar & Grill is in Avondale Heights.
Where AGFG lists takeaway, we say AGFG lists it. Where a venue’s own site says it, we quote the site. Hours come from each venue’s own page, except Roti Road, which is an AGFG listing.
This page prints no prices, because we found none we could read. Each entry ends with one move, so you can sort the arvo run in a minute.

Dosa Hut — 604 Barkly Street, Footscray VIC 3011
Dosa Hut is on Barkly Street in Footscray. Its site says you can still enjoy “the best Indian food takeaway in Footscray”, which is the venue’s own claim, not ours. It lists daily hours of 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. If you have not ordered a dosa before, it is a thin fermented rice-and-lentil crepe, usually folded round a filling.
The move: Read the daily hours on Dosa Hut’s site, then ask how takeaway orders work.
Sambal Kampung — 38-46 Edgewater Blvd, Maribyrnong VIC 3032
Sambal Kampung’s site gives a shop address on Edgewater Blvd in Maribyrnong, and AGFG lists takeaway. The site lists Monday to Sunday 11am to 10pm. Sambal is a chilli-based paste or sauce, but we have not copied a menu to say which dishes carry it.
What it is: A Maribyrnong restaurant with an AGFG takeaway tag and a seven-day hours line on its own site.
Palazzo — 27 Wests rd, Maribyrnong VIC 3032
Palazzo is on Wests Road in Maribyrnong. AGFG lists Takeaway, Vegan Options, BYO and Alfresco Dining for it, and BYO means you bring your own drinks. Its site lists Monday to Thursday 4:30pm to 9:30pm, Friday and Saturday 4:30pm to 10:30pm and Sunday 4:30pm to 9:00pm. Hours can change, so confirm before you go.
The move: Its listed hours start in the late afternoon, so plan the pickup for after 4:30pm.
Anchor Fish Bar & Grill — 2 Military Road, Avondale Heights VIC 3034
Anchor Fish Bar & Grill is on Military Road in Avondale Heights. AGFG lists Takeaway and Alfresco Dining for it. Its site lists Sunday to Thursday 11:30am to 8:00pm and Friday and Saturday 11:30am to 8:30pm. Check before you go, as hours change.
The move: Aim for pickup before the listed 8:00pm close on Sunday to Thursday.
Roti Road — 200 Rosamond Rd, Maribyrnong VIC 3032
Roti Road’s AGFG listing puts it at Highpoint, Level 1, 200 Rosamond Rd, and lists Takeaway. The AGFG hours run Sunday to Wednesday 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Thursday to Saturday 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. AGFG is a directory listing rather than the venue’s own page, so those hours may be out of date. Roti is a flatbread, which helps if you are reading the board cold.
The move: Confirm the AGFG hours with the venue, then go before the 8:00 PM close on Sunday to Wednesday.
Rice Workshop — 200 Rosamond Rd, Maribyrnong VIC 3032
Rice Workshop is at 200 Rosamond Road in Maribyrnong, and AGFG lists Takeaway. Its site lists Sunday to Wednesday 10am to 5pm, Thursday and Friday 10am to 9pm, and Saturday 10am to 5.30pm. Hours can change, so check first.
The move: Thursday and Friday carry the latest closing time on its listed hours.
