Plain version: none of the cafe pages we read states a laptop policy, Wi-Fi or power points. So this page cannot tell you which Melton South cafe welcomes a laptop, and it will not guess.
What it can give you is four places we could verify, and what each one actually publishes. One is council-run and describes communal study space. Three are cafes with published hours, so you can see who opens early and who closes late. Three of the four are in neighbouring Melton (postcode 3337); only Matilda is in Melton South itself.

Laptop policy: not stated. Study space: the City of Melton describes “two spacious floors featuring plenty of communal study and lounge spaces”. The same page lists Café CommuniTea among the building’s features, along with seven meeting spaces for hire.
Hours, as the council lists them: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8.30am to 6pm; Thursday 8.30am to 8pm; Saturday 10am to 4pm; Sunday 1pm to 4pm; excluding public holidays. The council also says “Anyone can become a library member. It’s free to join!”
Wi-Fi, read the fine print. The council’s line about “quiet study spaces, fast Wi-Fi, free printing, computers” sits under the Melton Suburban University Study Hub, a free space for tertiary students who register with a Unique Student Identifier. The page does not say what general visitors get, so ask the library before you plan a video call.
Best for: a long block of study or desk work on a weekday. Thursday’s 8pm close is the latest on this page.
Matilda Bakery & Cafe — Melton Station Square, 11-17 Station Road, Melton South VIC 3338

Hours: OpenStreetMap lists Monday to Friday 6am to 5pm, and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 7am to 3pm; that entry was last edited on 29 August 2026, and the shopping centre’s page gives no hours. The centre’s page says the cafe is “Available for in-store dining and takeaway” and serves baked goods, with coffee, every day of the week. Wi-Fi and power points are not mentioned.
Best for: the earliest weekday start on this page, 6am, tied with PM’s Coffee below.
PM’s Coffee — Coburns Central, 523-531 High Street (Shop T014), Melton VIC 3337
Laptop policy: not stated. Hours: the Coburns Central directory lists Monday to Friday 6 AM to 5 PM and Saturday to Sunday 7 AM to 5 PM. OpenStreetMap tags the cafe with outdoor seating, though its last check date there is October 2023. Wi-Fi and power points are not mentioned.
Best for: a 6am weekday start, level with Matilda.
The Coffee Club (Woodgrove) — Level G, Shop T117, Woodgrove Shopping Centre, 533-555 High Street, Melton VIC 3337
Laptop policy: not stated. Hours: the Woodgrove directory lists Monday to Wednesday 8 AM to 5:30 PM, Thursday to Friday 8 AM to 6:30 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 5 PM and Sunday 8:30 AM to 5 PM. OpenStreetMap tags it as a cafe with takeaway available. The brand’s own store page for Woodgrove returned a 404 on 2 October 2026, so the directory is the only source for hours.

On 2 October 2026 we read the City of Melton’s library page and opening-hours list, the Melton Station Square centre pages, OpenStreetMap entries, the Coburns Central and Woodgrove directories, and the postcode list. Matilda’s hours come from OpenStreetMap alone, and The Coffee Club’s from the Woodgrove directory alone, so both are worth a phone call before a long session. We did not read any page that states a cafe’s laptop, Wi-Fi or power policy, and we have not claimed one. The library’s Wi-Fi wording belongs to its Study Hub, as explained above.
