A dinner for two starts with places that are actually open when you are. So this page gives you five venues near Melton South, each with the evening hours it publishes, its format and any price we could confirm. None of the listings we read describes its place as romantic, so we don’t either, and where we read talk-ability from a stated feature we say it is our inference, not a report from the room.
Only Okami and Ruby’s published prices we could use. Accessibility details are not in the sources we read for any of the five, so ask the venue. We did not check public transport times, so use the PTV journey planner for the way home. Two venues are in Weir Views (postcode 3338, shared with Melton South), two are at Woodgrove in Melton West (3337) and one is in Melton South itself.

Okami Japanese Restaurant — MM3 Opalia Plaza, 201 Exford Road, Weir Views VIC 3338
Opalia Plaza lists evening sessions every night except Monday: 5:30pm to 10pm Tuesday to Thursday, 5pm to 11pm Friday and Saturday, and 5pm to 10pm on Sunday. It is all-you-can-eat Japanese, and the chain’s home page puts the dinner price at “FROM $42.80 PP*” with “PRICES MAY VARY BY STORE”. The chain’s FAQ says walk-ins are welcome but recommends booking ahead, especially for a big group on a weekend, so book a table for two by phone or online.
Talk-ability: the chain’s home page calls it “family and group gathering friendly”, which suggests a venue set up for groups. That is our inference from the wording.
Split or splurge: from $42.80 per person for dinner, per the chain. Confirm the Melton price when you book.
Plan B: Okami is closed on Monday. La Porchetta, below, is open that night.
Say this: the chain’s own site says its Japanese all-you-can-eat “Originated from 2013” and counts 50+ branches across Australia.
La Porchetta — Shop RES01, Woodgrove Shopping Centre, 533-555 High Street, Melton West VIC 3337
Woodgrove’s directory lists La Porchetta as shop RES01, open 11:30 AM to 9 PM Monday to Wednesday, 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM Thursday, 11:30 AM to 10 PM Friday and Saturday and 11:30 AM to 9 PM Sunday. It adds that delivery is available all seven days. We captured no menu and no store prices.
Talk-ability: the venue’s own blurb is built around conversation: “the delights of conversation with the pleasures of beautiful food and drink”.

Naturals Street Kitchen — Opalia Plaza, 201 Exford Road, Weir Views VIC 3338
This is the one with the latest hours. Opalia Plaza lists 5pm to midnight Monday to Thursday, 5pm to 1am Friday and Saturday, and 5pm to 12:15am Sunday. The centre describes it as serving Indian street food, “From savory snacks to hearty mains and indulgent desserts”. We have no menu or prices: the Naturals Street Kitchen website we found lists a Mambourin address, not this shop, so we have not borrowed its menu.
Talk-ability: no stated features either way.

Ruby’s Pizza & Pasta Restaurant — 11-17 Station Road, Melton South VIC 3338
Ruby’s is at Melton Station Square and calls itself “Ruby’s Restaurant” on its menu page. Its own site states no opening hours, so we quote none. The pizza list has four columns (Small, Large, Large Gluten Free and Family): a small Margherita, a Napoli (tomato) base with mozzarella, is $9.99. The home-made lasagne topped with béchamel is $17.99. The site says home delivery is available to Melton South and surrounding suburbs.
Talk-ability: no stated features; the site is a menu and delivery page.
Split or splurge: the two figures we captured are a $9.99 small pizza and a $17.99 lasagne.
Say this: the pizza list has a “Melton Special”, printed in two recipes, new and old.
Noh Modern Japanese Cuisine — Shop FC04, Woodgrove Shopping Centre, 533-555 High Street, Melton West VIC 3337
Last on the list for dinner purposes. Woodgrove’s directory shows Noh open until 9 PM on Thursday and Friday only, closing at 5:30 PM Monday to Wednesday and 5 PM Saturday and Sunday. The same hours are shown for another food-court shop (FC02), so they may be the food court’s schedule rather than Noh’s own; ring 03 8022 2900. The directory lists sushi, ramen, udon, chow mein and hearty soups, and we found no menu or prices.
Talk-ability: FC04 looks like a food-court shop code, since the Subway food-court shop is FC02, so expect a food-court setting. That is our inference from the unit code.

On 2 October 2026 we read each venue’s listing at the shopping centre that hosts it (Opalia Plaza for Okami and Naturals Street Kitchen, Woodgrove Shopping Centre for La Porchetta and Noh), plus Okami’s own website for its price and FAQ and Ruby’s own menu page for its prices. Each venue was confirmed at a second, independent source: Okami’s chain site lists Melton among its stores, OpenStreetMap lists Naturals Street Kitchen and Ruby’s, and Restaurant Guru lists La Porchetta and Noh at the Woodgrove address. Okami’s figure is a chain price that does not name a Melton price. Opening hours are the centres’ listings and can change; Noh’s may be the food court’s general hours. Talk-ability lines are our inference from stated wording, never a report from the room. Postcodes are from the Australian postcode list.
