A pub’s website says a lot about its outdoor space, so this page lines up what three of them publish: the terrace, the taps, the hours and the dog rules. None of the three has its address in Montmorency itself. Two are in Eltham and one is in Lower Plenty, so this is a list for a session in and around Montmorency.
Only one of the three gave us a craft tap count, and only one gave us menu prices. Where a pub’s pages did not state something, we say what we could not copy, not what we think it has. MELBZ checks sources and does not visit, so every line below is attributed to the pub’s own site or to the Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG).

Eltham Hotel — 746 Main Road, Eltham VIC 3095
Eltham Hotel’s site says “When the weather is nice, head our to our Terrace. Enjoy our deck and outdoor area, with full menu available”. It also lists a Sports Bar “with TV screens and plenty of lounges to relax on” and a Family Bistro that it says is “fully stocked with a variety of beer, wine and spirits”. AGFG tags it “Live Music” and “Vegan Options”, but we captured no gig dates.
The site lists general opening hours of 10:00am to 01:00am from Sunday to Wednesday and 10:00am to 03:00am from Thursday to Saturday. Its bistro hours are separate: Sunday to Thursday 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, and Friday and Saturday 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The menus were not available to us as text, so there are no prices for this pub.
Taps: we copied no tap list from the site or from AGFG, so the beer range is a question for the bar.
Garden: the site describes a deck and outdoor area off its Terrace, with the full menu available there.
Lower Plenty Hotel — 4 Main Road, Lower Plenty VIC 3093
Lower Plenty Hotel is at 4 Main Road, Lower Plenty, so it is outside both Montmorency and Eltham. Its site says it was established in 1858 and describes the setting as “Surrounded by beautiful flora and majestic gum trees in all directions, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to unwind – al fresco style.” The site calls the Terrace Bar an “award-winning outdoor experience”, and says it has a “HUGE outdoor screen” for live sport including AFL, NBA and cricket.
On dogs, the site’s FAQ says “Are dogs allowed on the terrace? Your furry babies are most welcome, so long as they enjoy their puppuccinos. We kindly ask they are on a leash, don’t make a mess and are not a disruption to others.” It also says a booking is not required to dine, but “it is strongly encouraged to make a booking to dine in the bistro as we do get quite busy.” The site says its playground is open only during bistro opening hours, and that children on the terrace must be accompanied by an adult and, on Friday and Saturday night, are welcome there only until 8:30pm.
The site lists opening hours of 10am to 4am all week, bistro hours of 11.30am to 2.30pm and 5pm to 9pm all week, and Terrace Bar hours of 11am to late all week. AGFG shows different hours, so we used the pub’s own. The menus link to PDFs we could not read as text, so there are no prices for this pub.
Garden: the site says dogs are welcome on the terrace on a leash, and that the playground is open only during bistro opening hours.
Go on a: day when a game is on, since the site says it shows live sport on its outdoor screen, and book the bistro if you want a feed.
Prosciutto Bros — 31 Peel Street, Eltham VIC 3095
Prosciutto Bros is at 31 Peel Street, Eltham. Its site describes the bar as having “20 Craft Beer taps and a great wine list to match” and says “Live music every Friday & Saturday night”. AGFG tags it “Alfresco Dining” and “Child Friendly”, but the site does not describe a garden or terrace in the pages we copied, so treat the outdoor part as AGFG’s tag only. We found no dog statement.
The site lists Tuesday to Friday from 5pm to late, Saturdays from 12pm to late and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm. The site footer also says it is open Mondays in December from 5pm to late. The site says it has “a wood fired oven, where an array of pizzas are cooked”, and describes the menu as “designed for sharing, very home-style Italian”. The site footer is dated 2017 and the menu PDF is undated, so check that the list is still current.
