Two of the six places below are in Montmorency, on Were Street. The other four are in Eltham, so this is breakfast in and around Montmorency, with the Montmorency cafes first.
Each place was checked against two independent sources on 5 October 2026. For menus we could read, prices appear exactly as they were printed. Where it was an image with no text, the page says so and prints no price.
Sweet or savoury is up to you. What the page can tell you is what each place publishes: hours, menu lines and which of them list a kids menu, outdoor seating or a laptop welcome.

Stones Throw — 5 Were Street, Montmorency VIC 3094
Stones Throw sits at 5 Were Street. Its own site lists Mon - Fri 6.30am - 3.30pm, Saturday 7.30am - 2.30pm and Sunday CLOSED.
The February 2026 menu PDF has an all-day dining section. It prints Noisette Toast at $9 and Eggs Your Way (GFO) at $15, and GFO is menu shorthand for a gluten-free option. A BREAKFAST BURGER (GFO) is on there too, and lunch-leaning Barramundi Tacos (GFO) are $27. Milk based coffee is $5.50.
AGFG tags the cafe ‘Vegan Options’, ‘Pet Friendly’ and ‘Alfresco Dining’. The menu itself has an Acai Bowl (VG) and a kids menu for 14 and under. The menu footer says a 15% surcharge applies on public holidays.

The order: the menu lists Noisette Toast at $9 under all day dining, and Eggs Your Way (GFO) at $15 if you want something with more on the plate.
Espresso 3094 — 44 Were Street, Montmorency VIC 3094
Espresso 3094 is at 44 Were Street. Its menu prints an ALL DAY BREAKFAST section: Toast at $12 and Egg on your way at $15. A Breaky Muffin is $8 and a Chicken Foccacia is $18, spelled as the menu spells it.
Check the closing time before you go, because the cafe’s own pages disagree. The homepage says Monday to Saturday 6:30am - 4:30pm and Sunday 8am - 3.30pm. The menu image footer prints an earlier finish. AGFG and OpenStreetMap have different closing times again.
The homepage describes a charming outdoor courtyard and a selection of cakes and desserts. AGFG tags it ‘Child Friendly’ and ‘Takeaway’. The menu footer says a public holidays surcharge may apply.

Go for: the all-day breakfast list, with Toast at $12 and Egg on your way at $15, then settle the closing time with a call.
Third Chapter Eatery — 26 Commercial Place, Eltham VIC 3095
Third Chapter Eatery is the first Eltham stop, at 26 Commercial Place. Its site lists Monday to Sunday: 7am till 3pm. AGFG prints a much later close, so the site is the one to trust here.
The menu we read is the PDF linked from the site, uploaded in September 2025, so treat the prices as ‘at the last menu we saw’. Eggs on Toast (*VE) is $16.90 and Brioche French Toast (V) is $26.90. Acai Bowl (V) is $25.90, and the Third chapter Beef Burger is $29.90.
The site has a BREAKFAST & LUNCH MENU, a KIDS MENU (UNDER 12) and a dessert section called ‘DESSERT (Final Chapter)’. It says it accepts reservations of all sizes and that takeaway is available.

Corner Caf — 5/6 Arthur Street, Eltham VIC 3095
Corner Caf is at 5/6 Arthur Street. Its own site lists Monday - Friday 8 am - 4 pm, Saturday 8 am - 3 pm and Sunday 9 am - 1 pm.
The site has menu pages for Breakfast, Lunch, Foccacias & Kids and Drinks. They render as images, so we could read no prices and print none. The site also mentions a new catering menu for work functions, gatherings and parties.
AGFG shows different closing times from the site. The site is the source used here.
Go for: the breakfast menu page on its site, which you will need to open yourself because we could not read its prices.
The Main Cafe Bar Restaurant — Shop 5, 906 Main Road, Eltham VIC 3095
The Main Cafe Bar Restaurant is at Shop 5, 906 Main Road. Its own pages print no hours that we found, so the hours here are AGFG’s: Monday to Saturday 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM and Sunday 7:30 AM - 10:00 PM. Treat them as a starting point.
The food menu PDF lists a MAIN BIG BREAKFAST. EGGS BENEDICT is served on English muffin with hollandaise sauce and Virginia ham, at $26. EGGS YOUR WAY is fried, poached or scrambled on toasted sourdough, at $14.
The PDF footer says a 10% surcharge applies on weekends and public holidays, so weekend prices run higher than the list. The PDFs are undated. The site also lists a bar, Wood-Fired Gourmet Pizza and a VEGAN SANDWICH (VG), and AGFG tags it ‘Child Friendly’.

The order: Eggs Your Way at $14 is the lower-priced of the two egg lines we copied, before the weekend surcharge.
Small Plates Eltham — 9A Arthur Street, Eltham VIC 3095
Small Plates Eltham is at 9A Arthur Street. It is a tapas and Mediterranean restaurant that also lists a breakfast menu. Its site says: Monday Closed, Tuesday - Friday 10:30am - 10:00pm, Saturday - Sunday 8:30am- 10:00pm.
So the earliest start, 8:30am, is on the weekend. The site has a ‘Breakfast & Lunch Menu’ page, and AGFG lists Breakfast. We did not read the menus, so there are no prices here.
The site says the dishes are ‘designed to be shared, giving you the opportunity to try a little bit of everything’, and that bookings are by phone. The site is undated, so check the hours.
Go for: a weekend start, since its site lists the earliest opening on Saturday and Sunday and a Monday closure.

Four of the six: Stones Throw, Espresso 3094, Third Chapter Eatery and The Main Cafe Bar Restaurant. Corner Caf’s menu pages are images and we did not read Small Plates Eltham’s menus, so neither has a price here.
Are the prices on this page current?
They were copied on 5 October 2026, but the menus differ in age. Third Chapter’s is an older PDF upload, so read its prices as ‘at the last menu we saw’. The Main’s PDFs are undated and add a weekend surcharge, Stones Throw adds a public holiday surcharge, and Espresso 3094’s menu says one may apply. Other menus may carry surcharges we did not list. Check before you go.
