Correction (5 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 5 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.

A dessert list is a list of what the sources say is on offer. Five places made this one. Each has dessert, cake, gelato or pastry wording on its own site. Only one, Espresso 3094, has a Montmorency address. The other four are in Eltham, so this is a guide to sweets in and around Montmorency.

One limit up front. Two places print sweet prices we could read: Second Home’s cakes and Third Chapter’s dessert section, both quoted in their entries. For Espresso 3094, Augustus Gelatery and Pierross we could read no cake, gelato or pastry prices, so the price lines under Espresso 3094 are breakfast and lunch items, there to show how the menu is priced. Hours come from each place’s own site as of 5 October 2026.

Espresso 3094 — 44 Were Street, Montmorency VIC 3094

The site says “Indulge in our selection of exquisite cakes and desserts”. It also mentions “our charming outdoor courtyard”. AGFG tags the cafe “Takeaway” and “Child Friendly”. The site’s hours read “Monday – Saturday 6:30am – 4:30pm Sunday – 8am – 3.30pm”. The cafe’s own menu image, AGFG and OpenStreetMap give other closing times, so ring before a late arvo run. The cakes themselves are not listed on the pages we read.

On the menu (copied from espresso3094.com.au/our-menu on 5 October 2026):

  • Toast: $12
  • Egg on your way: $15
  • Breaky Muffin: $8
  • Chicken Foccacia: $18

Order: ask which cakes are on that day, because the site’s line names cakes and desserts without listing them.

Augustus Gelatery (Eltham) — 6/796 Main Road, Eltham VIC 3095

Gelato first. The brand’s site says “From classic pistachio to fan favourite Cotton Candy, our creamy gelato is sure to satisfy.” That flavour line is for the whole brand, not the Eltham store, so the Eltham range may differ. We could not read the store’s hours or any prices. The Eltham address is on the brand’s locations page and in AGFG.

Order: gelato, and ask the store which flavours it has before you commit to a pistachio plan.

Pierross Italian Pasticceria — Eltham Terrace, 5-9 Dudley Street, Eltham VIC 3095

A pasticceria is an Italian pastry shop. Pierross’s site says “Made fresh daily, our selection of cakes (including gluten free options) varies each day.” It also lists “Homemade Croissants: Flaky, homemade croissants” and “Portuguese Tart: A taste of Portugal in every bite”. A Portuguese tart is a small custard tart; that is the usual dish, not the site’s wording. The site adds “Pizza by the slice, savoury pastries, pies and more.” AGFG tags the place “Child Friendly” and “Takeaway”.

The site’s hours read “Cafe Tue to Sat- 8am to 2pm Sun - 9am to 12pm Dinner Fri & Sat nights - 5pm to 9pm”. We could read no prices.

Order: the daily cake selection, but ask what is out, since the site says it varies each day.

Second Home — 21 Brougham Street, Eltham VIC 3095

The menu lists “Cakes & Bakes Noisette French pastries”. It also has a “High Tea Experience” with “a bottomless beverage, barista-made coffee, teas and our beautifully curated high tea tower of savoury and sweet favourites”. We hold no price for the high tea. The site’s hours read “Monday to Friday 8am - 3pm (kitchen & coffee closes 2:30) Saturday & Sunday 8am - 3:30pm (kitchen & coffee closes 3:00)”.

The menu’s Cakes & Bakes section prices Noisette French pastries from $7, Carrot cake (VGN, NF) at $7.50, Lemon delicious cake at $8.50 and Double Choc Brownie (GF, NF) at $7.50. The Pancake stack is $25. The menu describes it as “Buttermilk pancakes, seasonal berries, caramelised banana, maple syrup & vanilla icecream”, with maple bacon as an add-on.

On the menu (copied from secondhomeeltham.com.au/menu on 5 October 2026):

  • Pancake stack: $25
  • Our Benedict: $27
  • Wagyu beef burger: $30
  • Hot chips: $12.50

The build: Pancake stack, $25: pancakes, berries, caramelised banana, maple syrup and vanilla icecream, as the menu words it.

Third Chapter Eatery — 26 Commercial Place, Eltham VIC 3095

The site’s hours read “Monday to Sunday: 7am till 3pm”. Its menu has a section headed “DESSERT (Final Chapter)” that lists “Banana Bread made by the Bosses Mum”, served warm with cream, at $10.90, and “Gourmet Cakes” from the display cabinet at $10.90. The site says “Takeaway available!” and “We accept reservations of all sizes at any time and walk-ins are also available.” Prices below are from the menu PDF named third-sep-25.pdf, so treat them as the last menu we saw and not as today’s board.

On the menu (copied from thirdchapter.com.au/third-sep-25.pdf on 5 October 2026):

  • Banana Bread made by the Bosses Mum: $10.90
  • Eggs on Toast (*VE): $16.90
  • Acai Bowl (V): $25.90
  • Third chapter Beef Burger: $29.90
  • Old School Fish and Chips: $30.90

Order: the banana bread, or ask which gourmet cakes are in the display cabinet that day.
