Correction (5 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 5 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.
Three Italian places cleared our checks, and none of them has a Montmorency address. Solana Restaurant and Wine Bar is in Lower Plenty, while Prosciutto Bros and Pierross Italian Pasticceria are in Eltham, so this is a page about Italian food in and around Montmorency.
This is the sit-down and pastry side of the list: a restaurant, a bar with a shared-plates menu, and a pasticceria (an Italian pastry shop). Each entry says what the place publishes about itself, with hours credited to the page they came from, and where a menu carried no prices we say so rather than guess.
The quick picks
| If you’re after | Head to | Order this | Price |

Solana Restaurant and Wine Bar — 410 Main Road, Lower Plenty VIC 3093
Solana’s site calls it ‘a modern Italian restaurant set on beautiful green acreage, where contemporary style meets rustic tradition’. It lists opening hours of Tuesday to Thursday 05:00 PM to 09:30 PM, Friday and Saturday 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Sunday 12:00 PM to 09:00 PM, and it has a ‘Book A Table’ link. The Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG) tags it ‘Romantic’, ‘Vegan Options’ and ‘Alfresco Dining’. The menu items we read on its site were posts without prices, and the footer is dated 2025, so check the current menu with the restaurant.
Menu tells: the site posts items such as ‘CRUMBED GREEN BEANS (V) (GF OPTION)’, which marks a dietary note on the dish itself; we could not read a price, and BYO and takeaway policy are not stated on the pages we read.
Prosciutto Bros — 31 Peel Street, Eltham VIC 3095
Prosciutto Bros’ site says its ‘menu is designed for sharing, very home-style Italian’, and adds ‘We also have a wood fired oven, where an array of pizzas are cooked’. It lists Tuesday to Friday from 5pm until late, Saturday from 12pm until late, and Sunday 12pm to 5pm. AGFG tags it ‘Child Friendly’ and ‘Alfresco Dining’. The site footer reads ‘Copyright 2017’ and the menu PDF is undated, so treat the prices below as a guide and confirm them before you go.
On the menu (copied from prosciuttobros.com.au menu PDF on 5 October 2026):
- TRIO OF DIPS (AGF): $18
- GARLIC BREAD: $8
- PROSCIUTTO BROS. SPESH: $28
The menu describes the Trio of Dips as a selection of local freshly made dips served with warm Turkish bread, and lists the Spesh, the pizza that carries the bar’s name, with tomato, cheese, basil and prosciutto. The menu also prints ‘VEGAN PIZZA OPTION ADD $10’.
The style: the site says only that the menu is ‘designed for sharing, very home-style Italian’ and names no region, so we leave the style unlabelled; its pizzas are covered on our Montmorency pizza page.
Pierross Italian Pasticceria — Eltham Terrace, 5-9 Dudley Street, Eltham VIC 3095
Pierross’s site lists cafe hours of Tuesday to Saturday 8am to 2pm and Sunday 9am to 12pm, with dinner on Friday and Saturday nights from 5pm to 9pm. It says its cakes are ‘Made fresh daily’, that the selection ‘varies each day’ and includes gluten free options, and its list takes in ‘Homemade Croissants’, a ‘Portuguese Tart’ and ‘Pizza by the slice, savoury pastries, pies and more.’ AGFG tags it ‘Child Friendly’ and ‘Takeaway’. We could not read prices on the pages we found, so this entry has none.
Verdict for: a daytime sweet stop on the cafe hours, or a Friday or Saturday dinner on the site’s evening hours, with the caveat that we have no menu prices to share.
