Because a marker on a menu is a promise from the venue, the markers below appear as printed, the venues’ own statements appear as published, and the page adds nothing else. Six places made the list: one is in Montmorency (Stones Throw), four are in Eltham, and one is in Greensborough, so this is vegan food in and around Montmorency, not only inside the suburb.
The price lines under each venue are sample menu items copied from the venue’s own menu. They are not a list of vegan dishes, and a price appearing here does not mean the item is vegan; where an item is marked, the text says so. Ask the venue about ingredients and shared equipment before you order.

Stones Throw — 5 Were Street, Montmorency VIC 3094
Stones Throw is the one address on this page that is inside Montmorency. AGFG tags it “Vegan Options”, and its own site lists the hours as Mon - Fri 6.30am - 3.30pm, Saturday 7.30am - 2.30pm and Sunday CLOSED. The menu is a PDF made of images, so we read it by eye. Its key reads “(VG) Vegan” and “(VGO) Vegan Option”, and the “ACAI BOWL (VG)” carries the vegan marker. The same (VG) marker also appears on “TURKISH EGGS (VG)(GFO)”, which the menu lists with chorizo, poached eggs and garlic yoghurt, and on “AVOCADO TOAST (VG)(GFO)”, listed with feta and a poached egg, so treat the marker as a prompt to ask, not a guarantee. The noisette toast and the other price lines below are sample items, and the noisette toast line carries no marker.
Menu markers: the menu’s key reads (GF) Gluten Free, (GFO) Gluten Free Option, (VG) Vegan and (VGO) Vegan Option; because (VG) also sits on dishes listed with eggs, chorizo or feta, ask the counter before you rely on it.
Hecho en Mexico Eltham — 953 Main Road, Eltham VIC 3095
The venue’s own site says “The menu is kid friendly and designed to offer gluten free and vegan options.” That is a statement about the menu as a whole, not a dish-by-dish guide, and the menu itself sits on a JavaScript page we could not read, so we hold no dish markers for this restaurant. The site lists opening hours of 12:00 pm – 9.30 pm every day of the week. The one price we could read is the weekend “Bottomless Brunch 2.0 Lite” at $60 per person, which the site says includes unlimited drinks and one main meal, with sessions at 12 pm and 1 pm for 70 minutes on Saturday and Sunday; it is not marked as vegan.
Ask: whether the main meal in the brunch can be ordered from the vegan options the site mentions.
Prosciutto Bros — 31 Peel Street, Eltham VIC 3095
Prosciutto Bros’ menu PDF carries a line reading “VEGAN PIZZA OPTION ADD $10”, so the vegan pizza is an add-on charge on top of the pizza’s listed price rather than a separate dish. The Margherita is printed as “MARGHERITA (AV)” with tomato, cheese and oregano, and the dips are marked “(AGF)”; the menu’s key reads “(AV) Available Vegan” and “(AGF) Available Gluten Free”. The site lists Tuesday to Friday 5pm - late, Saturdays 12pm - late and Sunday 12pm - 5pm. The menu PDF is undated and the site footer carries an old copyright year, so check that the menu is current before you plan around it.
Ask: whether the cheese on the vegan pizza option is a plant-based one, and whether the $10 vegan option is how the (AV) pizzas, such as the Margherita, are made vegan.
The Main Cafe Bar Restaurant — Shop 5, 906 Main Road, Eltham VIC 3095
The cafe’s own menu lists a “VEGAN SANDWICH (VG)”; its price is not among the figures we hold, so none is quoted here. The price lines below are sample items from the food menu PDF, and the PDF’s footer reads “A SURCHARGE OF 10% APPLIES ON WEEKENDS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS”, so weekend prices will be higher than those shown. AGFG lists hours of 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM from Monday to Saturday and 7:30 AM - 10:00 PM on Sunday; the cafe’s own pages print no hours that we found. The PDF menus are undated.
Menu markers: the vegan sandwich is the one dish we saw carrying a “(VG)” marker, so ask whether other dishes can be adapted.
Cinnamon Grove Cafe & Catering — 249 Para Road, Greensborough VIC 3088
Cinnamon Grove is in Greensborough, not Montmorency. Its site lists a “Vegan Brekky”, which the menu describes as starting with a homemade samosa with chutney, then tempered dhal, sauteed mushrooms and spinach, caramelized onions and avocado, on the breakfast menu that includes “The Big Brekky”. The Big Brekky is not a vegan dish: the menu describes it as two eggs your way on sourdough with sauteed mushrooms, hash brown, spinach, cheese kransky and bacon. The site prints no hours on the pages we read, so the hours are AGFG’s: Mon 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Tue to Fri 7:00 AM - 2:30 PM, and Sat and Sun 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
Fully plant-based or options: options only, going by the pages we read; the vegan brekky is the one dish we saw named as vegan.
Main Fish and Chips and Kebabs — 935 Main Road, Eltham VIC 3095
The shop’s own home page says “vegan/vegetarian available We use rice bran oil We do home made dairy free/vegan batter”. It also lists a Vegan Burger and a Falafel Wrap described as made with vegan falafel balls and a home made vegan garlic sauce. On gluten, the shop says “Gluten free is available every day except Fridays (separately fried)”; that is the shop’s own statement, and we are not rating it. Hours on the shop’s menu page are Monday closed, Tuesday to Saturday 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM and Sunday 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and prices are printed as including GST.

Is any of the six fully vegan?
In the pages we read on 5 October 2026, none of the six describes itself as fully plant-based. Each offers vegan options or labelled dishes on a wider menu, so ask about shared equipment and ingredients.
Which of them says how its vegan food is cooked?
Main Fish and Chips and Kebabs is the one that did: its site says it uses rice bran oil and a home made dairy free, vegan batter. We did not record a kitchen statement for the other five.
Which of them are open on a Sunday?
Stones Throw lists Sunday as closed on its own site. The others show Sunday hours. Hecho en Mexico Eltham lists 12:00 pm – 9.30 pm on its own site. Prosciutto Bros lists Sunday 12pm - 5pm on its own site. The Main Cafe Bar Restaurant has 7:30 AM - 10:00 PM on its AGFG listing. Cinnamon Grove has 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM on its AGFG listing. Main Fish and Chips and Kebabs lists 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM on its own menu page.
