Four cafes, two suburbs. Two are in Mulgrave and two are in Wheelers Hill. So this page says “in and around Mulgrave”, and each heading names its own suburb.
Every cafe here has a breakfast or brunch line on a public page, even if it is only a headline. Where a menu printed a price, we copied it. Where it did not, we say so and print none. Hours come from the source named in each section, and where two sources disagree, the section says so.
Brekkie is only useful if the door is open, so check the day before you go.

XS Roasting Kitchen @ Nexus — 3 Nexus Court, Mulgrave VIC 3170
The venue’s own site prints no opening hours that we could find. The Australian Good Food Guide lists Mon 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM through Fri 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM, with Sat Closed and Sun Closed. The site’s service line reads “Dine In, Take Away, Coffee, Functions, Catering”.
Sweet or savoury? The sweet pick is the porridge, which the menu describes as rolled oats cooked in almond milk with caramelised apples and cinnamon. The savoury side includes a veggie breakfast of “Eggs your way, tomato, spinach, mushrooms and avocado”, and The Works, a house big breakfast with bacon, roast tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, hash brown, tomato relish, chorizo and two eggs on toasted sourdough.

The order: the smashed avo at $21.90, which the menu describes as avo smash with feta, lemon, with poached eggs on toasted sourdough.
Lankan Manna Cafe & Restaurant — 1 Glenvale Crescent, Mulgrave VIC 3170
The restaurant’s site prints its hours in two tiers. Breakfast runs 9 am – 3 pm. The cafe and restaurant open at 8 am, closing at 3 pm Monday to Wednesday and 8 pm Thursday to Saturday. Sunday is closed.
The site tags the place “Vegan Options: Plenty of plant-based choices available” and “Family Friendly: Kids menu & warm, welcoming atmosphere”. The prices below are the menu items we could copy. We could not tell from the page which of them sit inside the breakfast window, so ask when you book or turn up.
String hoppers, for first-timers, are steamed rice-flour noodles pressed into small nests, served here with curry.

The Hills Pantry — Wheelers Hill Shopping Centre, 190 Jells Road, Wheelers Hill VIC 3150
This is in Wheelers Hill, inside the shopping centre. The centre’s site lists it under “BRUNCH, LUNCH & TAKEAWAYS” and asks “Need a decent coffee*? A spot of brunch? A delicious lunch?” AGFG lists a breaky burger “with housemade chutney, rocket, crispy bacon, halloumi, egg and Kewpie mayonnaise”.
AGFG hours: Mon to Fri 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Sat 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM and Sun 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM. That makes it the only cafe on this page with a Sunday listing. Two caveats: we found no website of its own, only the centre’s page, and we could not read a menu price.
Go for: the breaky burger, the dish AGFG describes in detail.
20g Coffee — 196 Brandon Park Dr, Wheelers Hill VIC 3150
The cafe’s own site lists Monday - Thursday 7am - 4pm, Friday 7am - 4pm, Saturday 8am - 4pm and Public Holidays CLOSED. Sunday is not listed on its own site, and AGFG says Sun Closed. The site’s headline is “Start Your Day With 20g Coffee”, and AGFG tags it “Child Friendly”.
The two prices on its homepage are SPECIALS, printed as bare numbers with no dollar sign. Nothing on the page marks them as breakfast dishes, and we could not read a breakfast menu, so we have no breakfast price.

XS Roasting Kitchen is listed from 6:00 AM on weekdays by AGFG, and The Hills Pantry from 6:30 AM. 20g Coffee lists 7am. Lankan Manna’s breakfast listing starts at 9 am.
Where can I see a breakfast price before I go?
XS Roasting Kitchen prints eggs on toast at $12.90 and porridge at $14.90. Lankan Manna prints String Hoppers with Curry at $20, but we could not tell which of its dishes are breakfast. For the rest we read no breakfast price.
Which of these cafes are in Mulgrave itself?
Two. XS Roasting Kitchen @ Nexus is at 3 Nexus Court and Lankan Manna Cafe & Restaurant is at 1 Glenvale Crescent, both Mulgrave VIC 3170. The Hills Pantry and 20g Coffee are in Wheelers Hill.
