Northcote Bakeshop — 571A High Street, Northcote VIC 3070
Its own site promises ‘high-quality sourdough, irresistible baked goods, and fresh, delicious sandwiches every single day’. The site lists hours as Monday to Sunday, 6am to 2pm. AGFG tags it for breakfast, takeaway and alfresco dining, plus gluten free and vegetarian options. We could not find a price list.
Go for: The sourdough, since it is the first thing its own site names.
Phil’s Bakehouse & Cafe — 72 High Street, Northcote VIC 3070
AGFG lists Phil’s with early hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Saturday runs 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Sunday is listed as closed. AGFG tags it for takeaway, child friendly and disabled access. We could not find a menu, so there are no prices here.
The order: We could not find a menu, so ask what is baked that day.
Gusto Bakery Fairfield — 139A Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078
Gusto Bakery is in Fairfield, nearby rather than in Northcote. Its own site lists trading hours of 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday, and 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday. The site covers two shops, and these hours are the Fairfield block. We could not find a published menu.
Go for: A weekend visit, since the site lists Saturday and Sunday hours ending at 4 pm.
Kneadful Things — 116 Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078
Kneadful Things is in Fairfield. AGFG, which spells it ‘Kneadfull Things’, lists Monday to Friday hours of 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Saturday is 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM and Sunday is closed. AGFG tags it for takeaway, and we found no menu or prices.
Go for: A Saturday run, since the AGFG listing has it open from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
A1 Bakery Fairfield — 122 Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078
A1’s own site lists hours of 7am to 4pm, seven days, and advertises All Day Breakfast. Its menu prints Coffee Black at $4.50, a Trio Cheese (V) burek at $6.00 and Hummus (VG, GF) at $6.50. Sausage Rolls Vegan (vg) appear on the site, and AGFG tags Vegan Options. The site footer gives a different line for catering hours, so check before you go.

OpenStreetMap and AGFG both place Tasty Banh Mi at 146B Station Street, Fairfield. AGFG tags it for takeaway, delivery, vegetarian options and disabled access. We could not find hours or a menu on either listing, so we state none.
Go for: A takeaway banh mi, but check opening times with the shop first as none are published on the listings we found.
