This page answers the question you ask at the planning stage: where can we eat out as a family near Northcote? It covers six places in and around Northcote: two on High Street in Northcote, three on or near Station Street in Fairfield, and one on Queens Parade in Fitzroy North.
Each place carries a Child Friendly tag from the Australian Good Food Guide, and we checked it against a second source on 5 October 2026. Where a venue’s own site prints hours or prices, we say so and name it. Where we could not find them, we say that too.
AGFG tags are listings, not promises about high chairs or prams, so the checklist lines below tell you what to ask.

Tempo Pizza — 242 High Street, Northcote VIC 3070
AGFG tags Tempo Pizza as Child Friendly, with Alfresco Dining, Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free Options, and Pet Friendly. It also lists BYO alongside Fully Licensed, so ask which applies on the night. The site says bookings are available Tuesday to Sunday. Tempo’s menu prints MARGHERITA at $19.50, MARGHERITA DELUXE at $21.50 and TEMPO PIZZA at $27.00.

Pizza Meine Liebe — 231 High Street, Northcote VIC 3070
AGFG tags Pizza Meine Liebe as Child Friendly, with Alfresco Dining, Disabled Access, Takeaway and Online Ordering. The restaurant’s own site lists Monday to Saturday, 5 to 10 in the evening. It says “All our bases are vegan as well, with no added sugar.” The food menu is a PDF, and we could not record single prices.
Pack: A reusable water bottle and your own wipes, since the listing says nothing about high chairs.
Thai Station — 75 Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078
Thai Station is in Fairfield, not Northcote. AGFG tags it Child Friendly, with Alfresco Dining, Disabled Access, BYO, Takeaway, Delivery and Private Dining. Its site says it is open daily, 5 to 9:30 in the evening. The menus are PDFs, and we could not record prices.
Pram check: AGFG lists Disabled Access, but that is not a pram guarantee, so ask when you book.
Burger Road (Fairfield) — 89 Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078
Burger Road’s Fairfield branch is tagged Child Friendly by AGFG, along with Alfresco Dining, Pet Friendly, Takeaway, Delivery, Free Wifi and Disabled Access. The AGFG listing gives Monday to Wednesday and Sunday as eleven to nine, and Thursday to Saturday as eleven to ten. We could not find prices.
Pack: Wipes and a change of top, since the listing shows takeaway if you decide to eat elsewhere.
Flour + Salt — 72 Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078
Flour + Salt sits on Station Street in Fairfield. AGFG tags it Child Friendly, with Alfresco Dining, Disabled Access, Takeaway and Delivery. Its site lists Tuesday as closed, and Friday and Saturday as 4 to 10 in the evening. The menu prints Margherita at $22, Spaghetti bolognese at $26 and Chicken parmigiana at $28, and Gelato each scoop at $3.50. It prints a 15% surcharge on the total bill on any public holiday, and says no BYO.

Argo Fishop — 318 Queens Parade, Fitzroy North VIC 3068
Argo Fishop is on Queens Parade in Fitzroy North. AGFG tags it Child Friendly, with Alfresco Dining, Pet Friendly, Takeaway, Delivery, Free Wifi and Disabled Access. Its menu prints Smashed Cheeseburger at $18 and Kalamata marinated olives at $9. The menu also says card payments incur a 1.4% fee, with service charges of 10% on Sunday and 15% on public holidays.
