Takeaway is quicker when you know the price and the move before you walk in. This page has six places in and around Northcote: three on High Street in Northcote, two in Fitzroy North and one in Fairfield.
Every place carries the Takeaway tag at the Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG), and each was checked against at least two independent sources, among them OpenStreetMap and the venue’s own site. Three places have menu prices we could read, and the other three say so plainly.
Each entry gives a what-it-is line and one move. Hours name whose listing they come from.

Northcote Fish & Chips — 341 High Street, Northcote VIC 3070
Fish and chips, with a twist. Its site says it serves traditional and vegan fish & chips and a huge range of vegan burgers and traditional burgers, adding that it sells everything you would expect a chippy to sell, but vegan as well. The site, whose footer dates from 2020, lists Monday to Thursday 4pm - 9pm, Friday and Saturday 12 PM - 10 pm, and Sunday 12pm - 9pm, so confirm them. We could not read a menu price, so none is printed.
What it is: a chippy that does both traditional and vegan, so say which you want when you order.
Tahina — 223 High Street, Northcote VIC 3070
Falafel are fried chickpea balls, and here they come on a plate or in a pita. The menu prints GREEN FALAFEL (GFO, V) at $15.50: four green falafels with hummus, chopped salad, pickled cabbage and tahini. SABICH (GFO, VO) is $16.50: sliced eggplant, boiled egg, potatoes, hummus and salad. AGFG lists it open seven days, 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM, and tags Takeaway, Delivery and Online Ordering.

Westgarth Fish & Chips — 99 High Street, Northcote VIC 3070
Classic fish and chips shop on High Street, covered only by directory listings. AGFG lists it closed Monday, Tuesday to Thursday 11:30 AM - 8:30 PM, Friday 11:30 AM - 9:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM. AGFG tags it Takeaway, Delivery and Child Friendly. We could not read a menu price, so none is printed.
What it is: a neighbourhood chippy known to us from directory listings only, so confirm the hours before you walk over.
Cookshop Rotisserie — 392 Queens Parade, Fitzroy North VIC 3068
Rotisserie chicken is roasted on a spit, then sold by the portion. Cookshop Rotisserie’s menu prints Quarter Chicken at $8.50, Half Chicken at $14 and Whole Chicken at $23. The Cold Chicken, White Bread, Iceberg, Mayonnaise sandwich is $12. Its site lists Monday to Sunday 11:00am - 8:00pm, but the site looks older and AGFG lists Monday and Tuesday as closed, so confirm those hours.

The move: start with the quarter chicken at $8.50, then scale up to a half or whole for a table.
Citrus Restaurant — 252 St Georges Road, Fitzroy North VIC 3068
Citrus Restaurant is in Fitzroy North, outside Northcote. Its site calls it a true family-owned joint, and its pickup menu prints the Vegan Meal at $15 and the Koththu Meal at $15. Koththu is a chopped-roti stir-fry. The Biryani Meal is $18.90, and biryani is a layered rice dish. Its pickup hours run Tuesday to Sunday 11:30 AM - 03:00 PM and 05:00 PM - 09:30 PM, closed Monday.

Rooster Bar — 128 Station Street, Fairfield VIC 3078
Rooster Bar is on Station Street in Fairfield, outside Northcote. AGFG’s listing describes it as a charcoal chicken restaurant with burgers, and lists 10:30 AM - 8:30 PM every day. AGFG tags it Takeaway, Delivery, Halal Options and Vegan Options. We found no website and no menu price, so none is printed.
The move: ring ahead to ask what is on the day’s menu, since the listing is directory-only.
