Correction (3 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources between 2 October 2026 and 3 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.
Oakleigh’s bakery strip runs on three traditions: Greek patisserie, Korean bread and Vietnamese rolls. This page lists six places, all in Oakleigh, with the hours and prices each one actually publishes.
Two of the six print prices we could read: Vanilla Lounge and Manna Bakery. For the other four, we say what the listing says and leave the price column honest. Sweet or savoury, pick a lane.

Sweet Filosophy — Shop 5/24-28 Chester Street, Oakleigh VIC 3166
The venue’s own site description calls it a “Modern European Patisserie” and places it in Oakleigh. It lists “Baklava, Galaktoboureko, Spanakopita, Bougatsa and more house made Greek treats that are cooked daily.” The menu page lists items without prices. Hours come from a findglocal listing that mirrors the venue’s Facebook page, so treat them as lower confidence: Monday to Thursday 7am - 6:30pm, Friday and Saturday 7am - 9pm, Sunday 8am - 6:30pm.
The order: pick from the sweets list. Baklava is nut-filled filo pastry soaked in syrup, and galaktoboureko is custard baked in filo.
Bakaliko Bakery — 28 Portman St, Oakleigh VIC 3166
This is the thin entry. Oakleigh Traders lists Bakaliko Bakery at 28 Portman St under Bakeries and Desserts, and OpenStreetMap tags it as a cafe named Bakaliko. That is all we could confirm. We found no opening hours, menu or prices for it, so we are not guessing.
Go for: a call or a look at the shopfront first, since we have nothing published to quote.
Nikos Cakes (Nikos Oakleigh Quality Cakes) — 25-27 Portman Street, Oakleigh VIC 3166
Nikos’s own site says that, whether you are eating in or collecting a box, there are “more than 90 sweet varieties to choose from”. It also says it is “Bringing the unique style of Greek coffee culture, to the Melbourne coffee scene”. The cafe menu link on its site did not load when we checked, so we have no prices or hours. Oakleigh Traders lists the address as 25 Portman St, while the site and OpenStreetMap say 25-27 Portman Street.
Roaster: not stated in the pages we read.
Vanilla Lounge — 17-21 Eaton Mall, Oakleigh VIC 3166
The venue’s own site says it is “Open seven days a week from 7am until 11pm.” and describes itself as a place “for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, coffee, cakes, functions and catering”. It also says its range “includes over 100 traditional Greek biscuits and pastries”. AGFG tags it “Alfresco Dining”. The menus are image-only PDFs, so the prices below were read from the rendered pages, and the menu footer notes a “16.5% surcharge” on public holidays.
Sweet or savoury? The brekkie side of the menu lists Big Breakfast at $32, Eggs Benedict at $22 and Homemade Classic Pancakes (2 stack) at $16.50. A coffee is listed as Coffee (Duke’s Coffee Organic) at $5.50.
On the menu (copied from vanillalounge.com.au and vanillalounge.com.au/Vanilla-Drinks-Menu-2026-v2.pdf on 3 October 2026):
- Big Breakfast: $32
- Eggs Benedict: $22
- Homemade Classic Pancakes (2 stack): $16.50
- Coffee (Duke’s Coffee Organic): $5.50
Roaster: not stated as a roaster; the drinks menu prints the item as Coffee (Duke’s Coffee Organic) at $5.50.
Manna Bakery — 174 Warrigal Road, Oakleigh VIC 3166
On its website Manna repeats an SBS Food headline, “This Korean bakery sells beloved pastries you may not find in Korea anymore”, and describes itself with the line “Enjoy our delicious, freshly baked bread made daily with love”. Its hours are Tuesday~Friday 9am – 5pm, Saturday 9am – 2pm, and Sunday and Monday closed. The shop also lists online ordering: order online before 2 PM and pick it up the next day. The shop’s list includes a Shanghai Butter Tteok priced at $5.00; tteok is a Korean rice cake.
On the menu (copied from mannabakery.au on 3 October 2026):
- Matcha Salted Butter Bun: $3.50
- Salted Butter Bun: $3.30
- Shanghai Butter Tteok: $5.00
- Dubai Chewy Cookie: $8.00
The order: the Matcha Salted Butter Bun at $3.50, one of the items in the shop’s Best Seller section.
PT Roll Bakery — 3/52 Atherton Road, Oakleigh VIC 3166
PT Roll’s own site says it is “Serving a blend of traditional Vietnamese Banh Mi and Australian pastries.” and invites you to “come eat in or takeaway”. Its hours are Monday to Friday 6:00am - 5:00pm, Saturday 7:00am - 5:00pm and Sunday 7:00am - 2:00pm. The site’s own address is 3/52 Atherton Road, but Oakleigh Traders lists 3/54 Atherton Rd, so check the door number. Its menu is an image and we could not read prices from it.
Go for: a banh mi, which is a bread roll filled with meat, pickled vegetables and herbs, from the Vietnamese side of its listed menu.
