Four places passed our checks for this page, and only one is inside Officer: Malwa Cake Shop. Two are in Beaconsfield and one is in Pakenham, so read this as bakeries in and around Officer.
Sweet or savoury, pick a lane. Malwa and the Swiss patisserie are cake counters, Pie and Mighty is pies and sausage rolls, and Big Boy Cookies is cookies. Two things to know before the prices: the patisserie’s prices are whole celebration cakes, not slices, and Malwa’s cakes are priced as a range.

Malwa Cake Shop (Officer) — Tenancy 01 Arcadia Village, 3 Campanella Avenue, Officer VIC 3809
Malwa is the one place on this page inside Officer. Its own site invites you to “Shop our delicious range of fresh, handcrafted cakes for every occasion” and lists its hours as Mon – Sun: 11 am – 08 pm. The menu lines we copied show Mocha and Black Forest as a price range, which the menu labels a price range, starting at $30.00. A range like that usually moves with the size and options, so ask what the cake you want comes to.

Beaconsfield Swiss Patisserie — Shop 5, 2 Beaconsfield-Emerald Road, Beaconsfield VIC 3807
The patisserie’s site describes “Authentic Swiss chocolates, cakes & pastries” and says it hand makes specialty cakes for all occasions. Its hero text lists Open from 6am - 4pm, Mon to Fri Sat 6am - 2pm (closed Sunday), but another part of the same site shows a different Saturday close, so check before a weekend trip. The prices on its cakes page are whole cakes, not slices. A vanilla slice is custard between layers of pastry, and the Vanilla slice cake serving 10 is $54; the Black Forest cake serving 10 is $60.

Pie and Mighty — Lot 18/36 Lakeside Boulevard, Pakenham VIC 3810
Pie and Mighty is in Pakenham, not Officer. The address above is the one its own site prints; the Australian Good Food Guide lists it at 24 Lakeside Blvd instead, so if one door number does not match, try the other on the same boulevard. AGFG lists hours of 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM Monday to Friday and 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Saturday and Sunday. The menu has a plain beef pie at $7, a beef and onion pie at $7.10, a chunky beef pie at $8.30 (slow cooked steak in red wine, garlic, tomatoes and mixed herbs) and a chicken parma pie at $8.30. A homemade sausage roll is $6.20, and the spinach, leek and potato pie, which the menu lists as a vegetarian pie, is $7.90. The site carries the line “VOTED AUSTRALIA’S BEST POULTRY PIE 2015”, which is the shop’s own claim and not one we have checked.

Big Boy Cookies (Beaconsfield shop) — 1/114-120 Old Princes Highway, Beaconsfield VIC 3807
Big Boy Cookies’ site says “As of September 2024, we have a shop front located at 1/114-120 Old Princes Hwy, Beaconsfield VIC 3807”, and its FAQ says “Yes we offer a small range of gluten free and vegan cookies.” The prices below are its web-shop product prices, listed as a regular price of $8.00 AUD for Biscoff and Apple Crumble, and the page does not say whether that is per cookie. The shop’s own pages and OpenStreetMap disagree about its hours, so check them before you go.

On its cakes page the Vanilla slice cake serving 10 is $54 and the Black Forest cake serving 10 is $60. The small Chocolate mud cake, serving 6, is $37, and the large one, serving 10, is $54. These are whole celebration cakes, not slices.
Are there vegan or gluten-free options at these bakeries?
Big Boy Cookies’ FAQ says “Yes we offer a small range of gluten free and vegan cookies.” Malwa’s site says it is “offering delicious vegan, eggless, and gluten-free cakes”. Neither names which items, so ask.
