Correction (5 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 4 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.

This page answers one question: where do you get breakfast or brunch in and around Parkville? It covers seven cafes, five in Parkville and two just over the line in North Melbourne.

Each place was checked against at least two independent sources, mostly the Australian Good Food Guide, the cafes’ own sites and OpenStreetMap. Hours are the listed hours from those sources, so confirm before you go.

Only Auction Rooms had a menu with prices we could read. It is the one place here with dollar amounts, and the rest say so plainly.

AGFG tags it for breakfast, and its listed hours are 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday to Friday and 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM Saturday, with Sunday closed.

Castro’s Kiosk is in the Physics Building on Tin Alley. The university’s page calls it coffee and light on-the-go options in a great spot for catch ups. It lists Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 4pm, and we found no weekend hours. Its tags read GFO, VO and VGO, which we read as gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options.
