Correction (1 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed ten “Indian” venues in Plumpton, under a postcode that is not Plumpton’s, with invented addresses, seat counts, prices and dishes such as pumpkin risotto and charcuterie boards. We could not stand behind any of it. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources, and every price was copied from the venue’s own menu or ordering site on 1 October 2026.
Plumpton is a suburb that mostly exists on a plan for now. Community context: the 2021 Census counted 79 people there, and the Victorian Planning Authority’s precinct structure plan, approved in February 2018, expects a community of around 29,900 once it is built out. Next door in Fraser Rise, the same Census counted 9,097 people, 11.5 per cent of them born in India, with Punjabi the most common language spoken at home after English, at 8.9 per cent.
That is the shape of this guide. We could not find an Indian kitchen inside Plumpton’s boundaries that publishes its own menu, so this is an honest “in and around” list: one restaurant in Woodlea Town Centre at Aintree, one at the Taylors Hill shopping village, a Cobblebank kitchen that names Plumpton in its own delivery list, and a dosa specialist at Caroline Springs. Each one is here because its menu can be read online, so you can see what you will pay before you leave home.
A quick primer for the menus ahead. North Indian, and Punjabi food in particular, is the food of the tandoor, the clay oven: tandoori chicken, naan, butter chicken, chole bhature. South Indian food is built on fermented rice and lentil batters: the dosa, a thin crisp crepe; idly, a steamed rice cake; vada, a savoury lentil doughnut; and sambar, the tangy lentil broth that comes with all three. Chaat, the salty, sweet and sour street snacks, belongs to the whole subcontinent.

Kesari Indian Kitchen Woodlea — Shop T19, Woodlea Town Centre, 2 Lim Way, Aintree VIC 3336
One of the branches the Kesari group lists on its own site, and the site places this one “in the centre of Aintree – Woodlea Town Centre”, with a bar for cocktails and mocktails. The menu runs the full map: a “Lets Chaat” list of pani puri, papdi chaat and pav bhaji; a “Starter From South” list of sambar idly and vada; tandoori chicken from the tandoor; Hyderabadi-style dum biryani; and an Indo-Chinese section of Manchurian, chilli and 65 dishes, the Indian-Chinese food that grew up around Kolkata. On the menu: the dosa list runs from a plain and a paper dosa to Mysore masala, palak paneer and chicken 65 dosas. The dish list on its website carries no prices; those sit in its ordering app.

Clove Chill and Grill — Shop 14, 127 Gourlay Rd, Taylors Hill VIC 3037
In the Taylors Hill shopping village, and its own site says it bakes its naans and breads in a traditional tandoor. It lists Fraser Rise and Hillside among its delivery areas. Butter chicken starts at $22.95, and there is a Punjabi-style version, “infused with chilli and pepper”, at the same starting price; garlic naan is $4.50 to mop it up. For a table, the Clove Special Tandoori Mixed Platter is $33.50 (two each of tandoori mushrooms, paneer tikka, sheesh kebab and chicken tikka), a samosa entree is $8.60, papadi chat starts at $13.95, and the goat, lamb, chicken or beef biryani starts at $20.75. On the menu: sheesh kebab is minced lamb, spiced and cooked on a skewer in the tandoor.

Tikka Twist — 1/223 Bridge Rd, Cobblebank VIC 3338
Its own ordering site names Plumpton VIC 3335 among its delivery suburbs, within a 12 km delivery radius. The chicken biryani is $19.90, a dish of basmati rice layered and cooked with spiced chicken. Tandoori chicken is $15.50 as an entree, vegetable samosas $7.50, and garlic naan $4.00. The chaat house is where to linger: samosa chaat, a crushed samosa under chutneys and yoghurt, is $13.50, and golgappe are $11.90. On the menu: golgappe is the Punjabi name for pani puri, hollow fried shells you fill with spiced water and eat in one bite.

Dosa Hut Caroline Springs — Shop 21, Lake St, Caroline Springs VIC 3023
The chain’s own page calls this branch its 10th in Melbourne and 14th nationally, and the menu leans hard into the dish on the sign. The masala dosa is $17.95, the crepe topped with aloo masala (spiced potato) and served with chutney and sambar; a plain or paper dosa is $12.95; the ghee podi dosa, spread with ghee and “gun powder” spice, is $14.95; and the 70MM masala dosa, a much larger crepe, is $23.95. Sambar idly (two pieces) is $9.95 for a lighter feed. North Indian dishes sit on the same menu: chole bhature is $17.95 when available, and chicken dum biryani is $20.95.

Also close by, without a price
Shahi Pakwan cooks from Taradale Crescent in Fraser Rise, the suburb just south of Plumpton. Its own site calls its food homemade Indian food, posted on a weekly menu “Updated Every Sunday At 5PM”, asks for advance orders, and takes them on WhatsApp, DoorDash and Uber Eats. The menu is posted as an image, so we could not copy its prices.

How we checked
On 1 October 2026 we read each venue’s own website or online ordering menu and copied every item and price exactly as shown. Clove Chill and Grill’s prices come from the menu page on its own site; Dosa Hut’s from its Caroline Springs takeaway menu page; Tikka Twist’s from its own ordering site, which only shows prices once the page has loaded in a browser, so we read it that way. Kesari’s website lists dishes without prices. We confirmed each address at a second, independent source: OpenStreetMap, Everything Indian, the Australian Good Food Guide or Uber Eats. Dosa Hut’s own pages print the street number as “29-25” Lake St while OpenStreetMap has 29-35, so we give the shop number and street only; AGFG files Tikka Twist’s address under Melton 3337, while its own site says Cobblebank, which we use. Population and language figures are from the ABS 2021 Census QuickStats for Plumpton and Fraser Rise; the planned population is from the Plumpton entry on Wikipedia, citing the Victorian Planning Authority. Online prices can differ from counter prices, and “from” prices are the smallest size. The photos are illustrative, from Unsplash: they show the kind of dish, not the venue’s own food.
