A date needs a table, a menu you can read in advance and a way to end the night when you want to. This page lines up six sit-down dinner places in and around Prahran: four in Prahran and two just over the line in South Yarra.
Each one was checked against its own website plus a second source such as OpenStreetMap, Broadsheet or the Chapel Street directory. Prices are copied as printed, hours are credited to the venue’s own listing, and where a venue publishes no accessibility details we say we could not find them.

L’Hôtel Gitan — 32 Commercial Road, Prahran VIC 3181
Broadsheet describes it as restaurateur Jacques Reymond’s vision of a Melbourne pub, and the menu is French. It prints Freshly Shucked Oysters at 7 ea, Duck Liver Parfait at $19 and Beef Tartare at $34. The site lists Crème Brûlèe Des Voyages at $18 if you want a shared finish. We could not find accessibility details published.

This is a steakhouse. The menu prints a 200g Mayura Wagyu Rump at $46, a 250g Porterhouse at $42 and a Grilled Chicken Breast at $27, so the table has a non-beef option. Its own site lists Wed-Sat 6pm-9.30pm and Sun 6pm-9pm. We could not find accessibility details published.

Angus & Bon — 168 Greville Street, Prahran VIC 3181
Angus & Bon is a steakhouse with set nights on its own site. SUNDAY ROAST runs from 12pm at $42 and STEAK NIGHT runs Tuesdays from 5pm at $39. The site’s Sunday jazz sessions page lists Live Jazz 1.30-4.30pm, so read Sunday afternoon as a louder room if you want to talk. We could not find accessibility details published.

Yugen is a Japanese and Asian fusion restaurant in South Yarra. Its site lists Wednesday - Sunday 6pm - Late and says guests enjoying a drink at the bar can find a light bite. It also says it aims to offer a diverse range of plant-based options. We could not read any menu prices and found no accessibility details.
Exit plan: the site lists a late-night light bite for guests at the bar, so the evening can stretch or stop at the main course.
Wagyu Ya — 156 Toorak Road, South Yarra VIC 3141
A Japanese wagyu yakiniku and shabu shabu restaurant, per its own site. The menu PDF prints BURI CARPACCIO at $35, WAGYU TATAKI at $35, WAGYU YUKKE at $29 and A5 WAGYU CARPACCIO at $62. Hours as listed: Mon - Sun 12pm - 2:30pm, Mon - Thu 5:30pm - 9:45pm, Fri - Sun 5pm - 9:45pm. We could not find accessibility details published.
