Correction (10 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 9 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.

This page answers one question. Where do you go for dessert in and around South Melbourne? Six places made the cut: two in South Melbourne, two in Albert Park and two in South Wharf.

Two are ice cream shops. Four are venues with dessert items on a menu. Each one was checked against two independent sources, and every price below is copied from the menu page it was printed on.

Where a place has no price we copied, the table says so. Where hours are listed, we say whose listing they come from.

Fritz Gelato — 11 Food court, South Melbourne VIC 3205

Gelato is Italian-style ice cream. Fritz Gelato sells it from inside South Melbourne Market. Its own site gives the address as Shop 11, Food Court, South Melbourne Market, Coventry St. AGFG tags it for takeaway.

We could not find a published price list, so this entry has no dollar figures.

Order: Gelato, and AGFG lists takeaway if you want to carry it out.

Lamaro’s — 273-279 Cecil Street, South Melbourne VIC 3205

Short list. Three desserts with prices we copied. Lamaro’s menu prints French Chocolate Tart $22, Rhubarb and Peach Crumble $20 and Sticky Fig Pudding $18.

AGFG lists vegan options, takeaway and alfresco dining for Lamaro’s. We could not find hours we would stand behind, so check before you go.

On the menu (copied from lamaroshotel.com.au/menu on 9 October 2026):

  • French Chocolate Tart: $22
  • Rhubarb and Peach Crumble: $20
  • Sticky Fig Pudding: $18
  • Eggplant Parmigiana * +: $38

The build: Lamaro’s menu pairs a chocolate tart at $22 with a fruit crumble and a fig pudding, so pick pastry or pudding.

Jock’s — 83 Victoria Avenue, Albert Park VIC 3206

Jock’s is an ice cream shop on Victoria Avenue in Albert Park. Its own site lists Monday to Thursday 12 to 8pm, Friday and Saturday 12 to 9.30pm, and Sunday 12 to 9pm.

AGFG lists vegan options and takeaway. We could not find a published price list.

Order: Check the shop’s own site for hours first, because we could not read any prices for Jock’s.

Ruby Riviera — 53 S Wharf Promenade, South Wharf VIC 3006

Ruby Riviera has a separate dessert menu. It prints Baklava Cheesecake - $17 and Churros Duo (V) - $16.

The (V) mark is the menu’s own. Hours differ between sources for this place, so we have left them out.

On the menu (copied from rubyriviera.com.au/dessert-menu and rubyriviera.com.au/food-menu on 9 October 2026):

  • Baklava Cheesecake: $17
  • Churros Duo (V): $16
  • Garlic Bread (VO): $18.90
  • Spanakopita Melt (V): $17.90

Order: Baklava Cheesecake at $17 from the Ruby Riviera dessert menu.

Plus 5 — 37 South Wharf Promenade, South Wharf VIC 3006

Plus 5’s menu prints Sticky Date Pudding $16. That is the dessert we could confirm.

AGFG lists vegan options and alfresco dining. The AGFG listing gives Wednesday to Sunday 11:45 AM to 9:00 PM and shows Monday and Tuesday closed. That directory is owner-maintained, so it may be out of date.

On the menu (copied from plus5bar.com.au/menus on 9 October 2026):

  • Sticky Date Pudding: $16
  • Stone Baked Flatbread: $10
  • Feta & Za’atar Flatbread: $15
  • Diavola: $28

The build: A sticky date pudding at $16, according to the Plus 5 menu.

Village Wine Bar — 117 Dundas Place, Albert Park VIC 3206

The menu calls its Tiramisu a traditional Italian dessert with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone, at $19. Bonet Piedmontese is described as chocolate and amaretti pudding with orange marmalade compote, at $18.

Its own site says it is open 7 days, from 12pm til late.

On the menu (copied from villagewinebar.com.au/menus on 9 October 2026):

  • Tiramisu: $19
  • Bonet Piedmontese: $18
  • Green Sicilian olives: $12
  • Pickled octopus: $19

Order: The Tiramisu at $19, or the Bonet Piedmontese at $18 if you want the chocolate pudding.

How we checked

We checked every place on this page against at least two independent sources on 9 October 2026: OpenStreetMap, the places’ own websites, the Australian Good Food Guide and villagewinebar.com.au. Every price is copied exactly as printed on the page linked under Sources, on 9 October 2026. Menus, prices and opening hours change, so check with the venue before you go.
