This page reports where vegan dishes are listed or marked, not which venues are vegan. It covers five places: two in South Melbourne, two in Southbank and one in Albert Park.
Vegan here means a labelled menu item, such as the markers VG, VE or vgn exactly as a menu prints them, or an AGFG tag reading Vegan Options. AGFG tags are the listing’s, not ours, so we write that AGFG lists them. We found no key explaining every marker, so we do not guess what one means.
Each place was checked against at least two sources, including its own website and the Australian Good Food Guide (AGFG). Every entry ends with one question worth asking when you order.

Farro Pizzeria & Bar — 343 Clarendon Street, South Melbourne VIC 3205
AGFG lists Vegan Options, takeaway and alfresco dining for Farro Pizzeria & Bar. Farro’s menu prints GARLIC OR HERB FOCACCIA (VG) at $14. Farro’s menu also prints PATATE E TARTUFO (V,VGO) at $29, with two markers on one line. We did not find a key for VGO on the pages we read, so we are not defining it.

Bambu Asian Eating House — 116 Cecil Street, South Melbourne VIC 3205
Bambu’s menu prints VG against Roti at $9 and against Charred Edamame VG GF at $10. Bambu’s menu prints Hokkien Curry Mee V VG at $18, with both V and VG on the line. AGFG lists takeaway and alfresco dining for Bambu, but we did not see an AGFG vegan tag, so the markers on the menu are our only vegan source here.
Menu markers: Bambu’s menu prints Eggnet Pad Thai VO at $26, and we found no key for VO, so ask what it covers before you order.
Saporito — 12-16 Kavanagh Street, Southbank VIC 3006
AGFG lists Vegan Options, takeaway and alfresco dining for Saporito, which is in Southbank. Saporito’s menu prints FRENCH TOAST [VE] at $25.00, and SPANISH OMELETTE[VEO,GFO] at $25.00 with a different marker. Its site lists weekdays from 6:00 AM, and the site carries no date we could find, so confirm what is current.
Ask: Ask what VEO means on the SPANISH OMELETTE[VEO,GFO], since we found no key and no kitchen statement.
Betwixt Cafe & Bar — 45 Sturt St, Southbank VIC 3006
AGFG lists Vegan Options, takeaway and alfresco dining for Betwixt Cafe & Bar in Southbank. Betwixt’s menu prints FRENCH FRIES GF VG at $12 and GARDEN SALAD GF VG at $12. Its site lists Monday to Wednesday 8.30am to 3pm, Thursday to 8pm and Friday to 9pm. The site is undated, so check before you go.
The safe order: The menu markers on FRENCH FRIES GF VG at $12 are the closest to a promise we found, so ask about the fryer, because we found no statement on it.
Brother Shota — 125 Victoria Avenue, Albert Park VIC 3206
AGFG lists Vegan Options, BYO, takeaway and alfresco dining for Brother Shota in Albert Park. Brother Shota’s menu prints Crispy Eggplant w/ Apple Miso (vgn, gf) at $16. Its menu prints Edamame (vgn, gf) at $7. Both carry the vgn marker as printed on the menu PDF its site links, which is an older file, so check prices on the day; we found no kitchen statement or opening hours to quote.
Ask: Ask whether the vgn marker on the Crispy Eggplant w/ Apple Miso covers the sauce and how the kitchen handles it.
