A dinner date wants an easy room, a menu you can read in advance and a clear idea of when the kitchen closes. This page has four places we could verify: three with a South Morang address and one, BASE Plenty Valley, in Mill Park, which is why the title says “in and around”.
Each pick is read openly from what the venue publishes: its own hours, its own words about itself and the prices on its menu. Where a site says nothing about noise or seating, we say nothing either. There is a plan B for each, because the weather does not check your booking.

Martini + Co Plenty Valley — Shop R13, Westfield Plenty Valley, Unit 7 P/415 McDonalds Rd, South Morang VIC 3752
Martini + Co’s site describes the chain as a place for “Whether it’s a couple’s night out, coffee with friends, dinner with the kids or a private cocktail party”, and its Plenty Valley page adds that “Families are always welcome at Martini+Co Plenty Valley.” So it is a room built for mixed groups, not only couples. That suits a first date: nobody has to pretend it is a big occasion.
The site lists hours of Friday 11am–11pm and Saturday 9:30am–11pm, so a late table is possible on those two nights. It also lists “irresistible breakfasts, tempting grazing plates, and flavour-packed mains”, and says its menu includes gluten-free and vegan options. Its address sits inside Westfield Plenty Valley. The venue’s own site and the council directory give South Morang; Westfield’s own pages give the centre as Mill Park.
The prices below come from a chain-wide dining menu PDF (an April 2026 upload) headed with Werribee, Plenty Valley, Bayside, Rockingham and Knox, so read it as the chain’s menu rather than one written for this room alone.

Split or splurge: split, since the menu prints Arancini balls at $17.90 and Pork and ginger dumplings at $16.90, which makes a few shared plates easy to add up.
Commercial Hotel — 820 Plenty Road, South Morang VIC 3752
The Commercial Hotel’s site calls it “The perfect place to link up with family, your mates, or a date”. It lists general hours of Sunday to Thursday 12:00pm to 10:00pm, Friday 12:00pm to 11:00pm and Saturday 11:00am to 11:00pm. The bistro has its own hours: Monday to Friday 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm. For dinner, work to the bistro hours, not the general ones.
The pub says it is “dedicated to bringing you international and local acts to grace our stage and entertain our locals”. We could not read gig dates, because the gig posters are images, so check the pub before you book. It also lists a large play zone for kids and says you can “watch the game on the big screen”. Plan B if the room is louder than you planned: ask for a table away from the stage when you book. We found no menu prices on the pages we read on 3 October 2026, so none appear here.
Talk-ability: live acts are listed on the pub’s own site, so read this one as louder on gig nights and ask which night suits a conversation.
Farm Vigano — 10 Bushmans Way, South Morang VIC 3752
Farm Vigano’s site quotes a 3AW review that called it a “perfect European romantic backdrop”, and the council directory lists dine-in, outdoor dining and function spaces. That is a review quoted on the venue’s own site, not our wording, and it points to a table-for-two night rather than a quick catch-up. The hours are Wednesday 12pm to 4pm, Thursday and Friday 12pm to 11pm, and Saturday and Sunday 11am to 11pm. It is closed Monday and Tuesday.
The sharing menu lists adults at 75pp, and the PDF says no takeaway is permitted on it. Plan B for rain: the council listing includes dine-in as well as outdoor dining.

Stage: anniversary or third date, because the menu leans on a sharing format and the site carries a 3AW review that uses the word “romantic”.
BASE Plenty Valley — Shop 53/400 McDonalds Rd, Mill Park VIC 3082
BASE is the Mill Park pick. Its site lists hours of 08:00 am to 10:00 pm every day of the week, and the breakfast menu runs “EARLY TO 3PM”. That makes it the easiest one on this page to fit around a work day, and a coffee-length first meeting fits inside those hours. The council listing mentions dining inside or “enjoying the outdoor seating”, which doubles as plan B when the weather turns.
The site marks a vegan brekkie, and it lists Carlton Draught from the fridge, so there is a drink on the menu that is not a cocktail. The council page says it was formerly the Groove Train, and Westfield describes it as outside, between the Commonwealth Bank and the Westpac car park. The menu numbers have no $ sign on the site; the amounts below are copied as printed.

Which of these are open late on a weekend?

BASE Plenty Valley lists hours of 08:00 am to 10:00 pm daily and breakfast until 3PM, and Martini + Co’s site lists breakfasts as well. Farm Vigano is open from 12pm Thursday and Friday, and from 11am Saturday and Sunday.
