Correction (4 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 4 October 2026.

This page covers six bakeries and patisseries in and around South Yarra: four in South Yarra, including two stalls at Prahran Market, and two in Richmond. Each entry says what the place lists on its own pages and when it says it opens.

Sweet or savoury, pick a lane. The cabinets here run from sourdough and pies to croissants, tarts and cakes.

We checked every place against two independent sources on 4 October 2026. Menu prices were not copied from anywhere, so you will not see any here.

Noisette (Prahran Market) — 163 Commercial Road (Prahran Market), South Yarra VIC 3141

Noisette’s trader page lists croissants, Danishes, Portuguese tarts, rolls and sourdough. It calls Noisette one of the market’s premier bakeries, with breads, pastries, slices and doughnuts. The market lists Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 7am and Sunday from 8am, and says traders can have slightly different hours.

The order: Start with the pastry line the trader page leads with, the croissants and Danishes, then add a Portuguese tart.

Q Le Baker (Prahran Market) — 163 Commercial Road (Prahran Market), South Yarra VIC 3141

The market’s trader page calls Q le Baker an artisan bakery specialising in sourdough bread. It also lists baked goods ranging from savoury to sweet. Hours are the market’s listing of Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 7am and Sunday from 8am, so confirm the stall’s own.

Go for: Sourdough, since that is the specialty the market page puts first.

Baker Bleu (South Yarra, Domain Road) — 183 Domain Road, South Yarra VIC 3141

Baker Bleu’s site lists dark crust sourdough baked daily, plus sandwiches, filled baguettes, sourdough pizzas and hot lunch. It also advertises a seasonal soft serve available only in South Yarra. The same site lists this store as OPEN 7 DAYS 7.00am — 4pm. Online prices load by script, so none are printed here.

The order: A filled baguette if you want savoury, or the soft serve, which the site calls seasonal, if it is on.

Tivoli Road Bakery — 3 Tivoli Road, South Yarra VIC 3141

Tivoli Road Bakery’s site calls it a bakery and cafe with sourdough breads, sweet and savoury pastries, granola, pies, sausage rolls and sandwiches. It also lists doughnuts, tea cakes, cookies and tarts. The site lists 7 days: 7:30 am – 3 pm, serving breakfast and lunch. We found no prices on its pages.

Go for: A sit-down breakfast or lunch, since the site lists both alongside the bakery cabinet.

Almost French Patisserie — 138 Swan Street, Richmond VIC 3121

Almost French Patisserie, on Swan Street in Richmond, lists French-style pastries on its site, including croissants, pain au chocolat, eclairs, macarons and tarts. It answers yes to gluten-free and vegan treats. Its site lists Mon-Sat: 7:00am – 4:00pm and Sun: 7:30am – 4:00pm.

The order: Pain au chocolat or an eclair, both on the site’s own pastry list, and ask about the vegan selection.

Cremorne Street Bakers — 135 Cremorne Street, Richmond VIC 3121

Cremorne Street Bakers sits in Richmond, though AGFG files it under Cremorne. Its site leads with cake and lists Brooklyn Blackout - Vegan. Its site lists Mon - Fri 7.30am - 4.00pm and Sat 9.00am -12.00pm, with Sunday pick up by appointment from the loading bay. OpenStreetMap’s tags differ, so call before a weekend trip.

Go for: Cake, and if you want it plant-based, ask about the Brooklyn Blackout the site marks as vegan.

How we checked

We checked every place on this page against at least two independent sources on 4 October 2026: OpenStreetMap, prahranmarket.com.au, the places’ own websites and the Australian Good Food Guide. We copied no menu prices from these places’ own pages, so this page prints none. Menus, prices and opening hours change, so check with the venue before you go. The cover photo is illustrative, from Unsplash, and does not show any place on this page.
