Correction (9 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 5 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.

Six places for a meal in a bag, five in St Kilda and one in Balaclava. The mix runs from Greek wraps and Indian curries to Sri Lankan hoppers, Neapolitan pizza, Mexican dinners and a proper chippy.

Every price on this page was copied from the venue’s own page and sits next to the item it belongs to. Where a place prints no price we copied, the table says so and we do not guess.

Menus move and some pages carry no date, so treat the numbers as a snapshot and check before you order.

Its site calls it Greek takeaway on St Kilda Beach, with spit-roasted lamb and chicken every day, and says you can eat on the boardwalk or take it to the sand. The current menu on its website prints the Kebab wrap at $16 and the Falafel at $19. The site lists open 7 days, 10:00am to 9:00pm, and prints Saturdays and Sundays 10%, public holidays 15% and card payments 1.65% as extras.

  • Gyro wrap (lamb, chicken or mixed): $19
  • Kebab wrap: $16
  • Falafel: $19
  • Spanakopita: $16

Babu Ji — 4-6 Grey Street, St Kilda VIC 3182

Babu Ji is an Indian restaurant in the George Building on Grey Street, and its site lists take-away seven days, 11:30AM - 9:30PM. The menu prints the Masala Pappad (GF VGN) at $10 and the Samosa (VGN) at $16. Its pages are undated, so the prices could have moved since we copied them.

  • Masala Pappad (GF VGN): $10
  • Samosa (VGN): $16
  • Palak Paneer (GF): $23
  • Pumpkin Channa Masala (GF VGN): $23

Cash or card: Its menu footer prints a card fee and a public holiday surcharge, so read the footer before you pay, and it also prints a BYO charge.

Three Elephants & Co. — 97 Fitzroy Street, St Kilda VIC 3182

This is a Sri Lankan restaurant on Fitzroy Street. Its site lists a 10% Take Away Discount On Pick Up and a Vegetarian Pan Roll (v). Its specials page prints Hoppers with Vegetarian Curry at $21 and Hoppers with Chicken Curry at $23, on Friday and Saturday nights only. The site lists opening Wednesday to Sunday, 5.30 to 9.00pm, and closed Monday and Tuesday.

On the menu (copied from threeelephants.com.au/sri-lankan-restaurant-specials on 5 October 2026):

  • Hoppers with Vegetarian Curry: $21

i Carusi II — 231 Barkly Street, St Kilda VIC 3182

i Carusi II is a Barkly Street pizza restaurant. Its site describes neapolitan-style pizzas made with 48 hours fermented pizza dough and says gluten-free pizza also available. It lists takeaway as available and says it is open 7 nights a week from 5pm until 10pm. We could not read a price for this one.

What it is: Neapolitan-style pizza has a soft base and a puffy crust, and the site says to call on (03) 9593 6033 for takeaway.

Radio Mexico — 11-13 Carlisle Street, St Kilda VIC 3182

Radio Mexico’s site says, “Too busy to DINE in? Order from our takeaway menu instead.” Its takeaway page prints the Mexican Dinner for 4 at $65 and the Ribs Dinner For 2 at $35. AGFG lists Monday to Thursday 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Friday 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 PM - 11:00 PM, since the venue’s own site prints no weekly hours.

On the menu (copied from radiomexico.com.au/takeaway on 5 October 2026):

  • Mexican Dinner for 4 (takeaway): $65
  • Ribs Dinner For 2 (takeaway): $35

The move: Order the Mexican Dinner for 4 at $65 when a few of you are hungry; it works out cheaper per head than the Ribs Dinner For 2 at $35.

The chain line reads open 7 days a week, from 11am till late. The menu prints Potato Cake at $2.20 and Australian Flake at $12.50, and the chain menu may not match this store exactly.
