Correction (9 October 2026): an earlier version of this page listed places and details we could not stand behind. It has been rewritten from scratch: every place below was confirmed at two independent sources on 5 October 2026, and every price was copied from the page it was published on.
This page covers five St Kilda places that either run a vegan menu or say they cater for it. Two describe themselves in fully vegan terms, and three offer vegan options alongside other food. Each entry reports what the venue’s own site says and the markers it prints, and nothing beyond that.
Every place was checked against its own website and the Australian Good Food Guide. Prices are shown only where a menu printed them. Menus change, so confirm with the venue, especially if you have an allergy.

Sister of Soul — 73 Acland Street, St Kilda VIC 3182
Its site says “As a vegan / vegetarian restaurant, Sister of Soul is part of the change in what we eat”, and it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The site lists Saturday from 8:30am to 9:30pm and Sunday from 8:30am to 9:00pm, with Tuesday closed. The menu prints Potato Fries at $11.00 marked V / GF / NF, and Okonomiyaki at $15.00 marked V / NF. The menu key reads V for vegan.
Menu markers: V, GF and NF are printed beside dishes, and the menu also notes weekend and public holiday surcharges, so check the PDF before you order.
Fat Jak’s — 205 Barkly Street, St Kilda VIC 3182
Fat Jak’s site describes a “FULLY dedicated vegan menu” and also lists “classic juicy burgers, massive LOADED parmas”. It lists “OPEN: ALL WEEK 11am - Late” for the Barkly Street store. We could not find a printed price list, so no dollar amounts are given here.
Fully plant-based or options: the site’s own words are a fully dedicated vegan menu alongside a wider menu, so ask which section you are ordering from.
Rufio — 188 Carlisle Street, St Kilda VIC 3182
Rufio’s site calls it a Latin fusion restaurant and rooftop bar on Carlisle Street, and says “Our menu is vegan friendly and completely gluten-free”. Its hours line reads Wednesday to Friday from 5pm to late and Saturday to Sunday from 12pm to late. The menu prints Kohlrabi Ceviche at $22, and the same menu prints Tiger Prawn Tostada at $18, so not every dish is plant-based.
Kitchen statement: the site’s one line is that the menu is vegan friendly and completely gluten-free; check the menu’s own markers for which dishes it covers.
Akwaaba Restaurant & Bar — 1/29 Fitzroy Street, St Kilda VIC 3182
Akwaaba is a West African, Ghanaian restaurant. Its site says “our menu has amazing vegetarian and vegan options too”. Its contact page lists Wednesday 3pm to 9pm, Thursday 12pm to 9pm, Friday to Sunday 12pm to 10pm, and Monday and Tuesday closed. The menu describes Red Red as black eyed beans in a spiced palm oil and tomato base stew with fried plantain at $34, and prints Steamed Rice at $7.
Ask: which dishes the vegan options line covers, since the copied menu lines carry no V marks and the Jollof Plate is listed with fried chicken.
Sorsi e Morsi — 31 Blessington Street, St Kilda VIC 3182
Sorsi e Morsi is a small Italian restaurant. Its menu key reads [VEG] VEGETARIAN, [VGN] VEGAN and [GF] GLUTEN FREE. The site lists a breakfast menu Monday to Sunday from 7:30am until 3:00pm, and says it is closed on public holidays. Its weekday specials are priced, for example Spaghetti Vongole at $25 on Wednesday, so the markers matter more than the specials.
Menu markers: look for [VGN] on the menu and check the key on the page you are reading, since the site prints all three markers.
