A date night is easier to plan when you know the booking situation, the hours and the price of a main before you leave the house. This page answers one question: where in Sunbury can two people sit down to dinner, and what do the venues themselves publish about it?
There are five places, all in Sunbury, covering Italian, Mediterranean, Indian and Thai. Four are proper sit-down restaurants; the fifth, Amalfi, is a pizza shop whose own site shows pickup and delivery, so treat it as a plan B for a night in. Each one was checked against at least two sources, and every price is copied from a menu page.
None of these is described as romantic in our own words. Where a venue uses that kind of language, we quote it and say whose words they are. Accessibility details were not published on the pages we read, so ring ahead if you need them.

Itahlia — Sunbury Cinema Complex, 25-47 Horne Street, Sunbury VIC 3429
Itahlia sits inside the Sunbury cinema complex on Horne Street. Its site describes the place as suited to ‘a leisurely dinner with loved ones, a romantic date night, or a lively gathering with friends’, and it offers a Book A Table link. The dine-in menu prints Pomodoro Fresco [V] at $23.00, and its site lists Mon-Sun as 11:30AM to late. We could not find accessibility details on the sources we read.

Bambsh Restaurant & Cafe — Shop 11/106-126 Gap Rd, Sunbury VIC 3429
Bambsh serves a Mediterranean menu from Gap Road. Its site describes ’three curated banquet menus, each designed for sharing and perfect for groups’, and also pitches ‘a casual dinner, a family catch-up or a long lunch with friends’. The menu prints Lamb Shank at $30 and Lamb Gyros at $35, and the site lists hours as noon to nine Sunday to Thursday, and noon to ten on Friday and Saturday.

Split or splurge: Garlic Bread (V) is printed at $10 for a cheap opener, then split a banquet if the site’s sharing pitch appeals; the site has a Book A Table link, so lock it in.
Flag of India — 87 O’Shanassy Street, Sunbury VIC 3429
Flag of India’s site lists hours as Tuesday to Sunday, 5:00pm to 9:30pm, so it is a dinner-only call. The site says Northern Leader awarded it Best Butter Chicken in Melbourne in 2023, and its menu prints Butter Chicken at $20.00 and Chicken Korma at $20.00. For vegetarians the site says paneer dishes are a customer favorite, and AGFG lists BYO.

Siam Taste Thai Restaurant — 28-32 Gap Road, Sunbury VIC 3429
Siam Taste is on Gap Road, and OpenStreetMap tags it as a Thai restaurant. Its own website was not loading when we checked, so this entry leans on its AGFG listing, which shows 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM every day and tags it Child Friendly, Takeaway, Delivery and Functions. We could not read a menu with prices, so there is no dish to point you at.
Say this: Ring and ask whether they can seat two, because we could not find a published booking option.
Amalfi Pizza & Pasta (Sunbury) — Shop 2, 30-40 Evans Street, Sunbury VIC 3429
Amalfi is the odd one out here: its own ordering site shows pickup and delivery, with delivery listed as 04:30pm to 12:45am, and we could not find a table booking. The sunburysquare.com.au listing gives Monday to Thursday 3:00pm to 1:00am, Friday and Saturday 11:30am to 2:00am, and Sunday 12:00pm to 1:00am. The ordering page prints 5 PACK CAULIFLOWER BITES at $9.50 and CARAMEL CUSTARD BISCHOFF PUDDING at $14.50.

Itahlia’s site lists Mon-Sun as 11:30AM to late. Separately, sunburysquare.com.au lists Amalfi Pizza & Pasta open until 2:00am on Friday and Saturday, though its ordering site shows pickup and delivery rather than a sit-down room. Flag of India lists Tuesday to Sunday evenings only.
Is there an Indian restaurant in Sunbury for dinner?
Flag of India on O’Shanassy Street lists Tuesday to Sunday, 5:00pm to 9:30pm on its site. Its menu prints Butter Chicken at $20.00, and AGFG lists BYO. The site also offers collection or delivery if you would rather eat at home.
Where can you get Thai food for dinner in Sunbury?
Siam Taste Thai Restaurant on Gap Road is the Thai restaurant we could verify. AGFG lists it open 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM every day and tags it Child Friendly, Takeaway and Delivery. Its own website was not loading and we could not read prices, so check the menu before you go.
